To follow from the last thread, I was saying:
Oh, boy. I like Luke's girlfriend (Andy).... I like her a lot with Sam. That's them from last season, when they went undercover together. Don't get me wrong, I like Luke. I really, truly do. I think he's a nice and decent man. I just don't think he's the one for Andy. But I'm happy you like the show, Kimmie. __________________

Thanks for the new thread. i'll try to move over all our compiled re-do stuff eventually.
I LOVE Andy and Sam, not Luke. Personally. __________________

And I'll get back on our favourite quotes.
Personally, I love Andy with Sam. But I do like Luke, too. I just think he's twelve kinds of wrong for Andy. __________________

Mind you, I've only seen the one episode, and therefore don't really know the history between him and Andy, much less her and Luke. Though, I really like Luke and Andy both, so maybe that's why I want them together. Time will tell.
And I'll be here enjoying what ya'll compile and bring over. Thanks for the thread! |

There really isn't a whole lot of back story to know here. Last season was a 13-episode season and you saw the second episode of the second season, which will also be 13 episodes.
And the first ever episode was Andy's first day on the job. The only difference is that she interacted with Sam right away (inasmuch as he was undercover when she "busted" him on her first day) and he was assigned as her training officer soon after that. Luke has always, always been super supportive. But there's a sense I have that he's the "safe" option for Andy, whereas Sam might be the "right" option, you know? __________________

Ooh, that's a good point-that Luke would be the safe way for her. I have a thing about nice guys now, after dating only bad boys, so I tend to go with the solid relationship choice.
It's not that I don't like Sam, he just kind of creeped me out last week, the way he looked at her. It was my first eppy though, so I haven't had time to adjust. Thanks for the info, and catching me up. |

Well, I can't argue that Luke is a nice guy. He really is. Which is why this isn't at all about my not liking him.
But Sam's a nice guy, too. I just get the feeling that he's kinda thrown by having feelings for Andy. He clearly doesn't know what to do with them, but he clearly has them all the same. Anyway, you don't have to swing the way I do. It'd actually be more interesting if you and I could compare and contrast our interest in these couples. Because, like I said, I do like Luke. I just like Same better for Andy. That's all. __________________

I probably will stick with Luke. I'm way outnumbered. Even Mom wants her with Sam.
He's the kind of guy I'll like more once I get to know him better. |

I think that bothered me about Luke was the way in the start he just kinda came across a little too ... something, false or too cute-sy or too something. Then someone told McNally she was his yearly rookie fling or whatever and a man who does that normally isn't one I want to pull for. So I think that did it for me. Besides, I like Sam's humor!

I definitely liked Sam a lot more in this eppy. And, eww, I didn't know Luke did that. With the rookies.

Oh sorry I'm not sure how much was 'true' but that's what one of the cops told Andie when she first was going out with Luke.

Well, Luke's rookie thing was certainly presented as a well-known fact. But he does seem genuine about Andie and, with what we know of his relationship with Jo, it seems that perhaps the rookie thing might have been a way for him to cope after that relationship fell apart.
I still don't like that he basically seems to have proposed to Andie in order to avoid having to tell her that the ring was actually meant for Jo once upon a time. But they are indeed living together and he seems to have moved on, so I'm willing to let it pass. I thought Luke rocked with the schizo intruder. I still swooned like a schoolgirl at Sam's frenzied attempt to break down the door at the hospital when Andie was fighting the guy, but I want to give Luke his just credit. Just because I'm definitely leaning another way doesn't mean Luke isn't a good guy who deserves good things. __________________

Oh Karen, I'm glad to know. It's only my second eppy, so info is definitely appreciated.
Sunny, you know what? I was really enjoying the scenes between Sam and Andie. I just remembered that thinking about that scene. |

Sam and Andy (I think that's how she spells her name actually) have really interesting chemistry.
Her dad's a former cop who had to leave the job because, when her mom died, I guess he got a bit of an alcohol problem. And Sam's sister was attacked when he was young. You can sort of see how they're both damaged in some way, and how that makes them stronger and who they are all at the same time. Who knows, maybe getting shot will give Luke some darkness. He's a bit of a mystery to me on that front. How do you stay that pure and that good when you deal in murder day in and day out? __________________
