Well, I'm back from the woods. The bugs ate me like I was a turkey on Christmas Eve, but what can you do?

I'm a little worried that we haven't heard from Nori in such a long time...

But I'm glad to hear you had a good day at the waterslide park.

Bubble-Head I always find someone to cheer on SYTYCD. I hear they eliminated two of my favourite people on the American version (Melissa and Ade), but at least we've still got Evan.

And the show isn't overrun with Broadway dancers. There's one. There's been one in the five years of the American version and the one year of the Canadian version we got. And that's Evan.

What we've been overrun with are the professional flailers, as I like to call them. Contemporary dancers. Not that they're bad. They just, you know... flail with flair. I prefer the ones, like Melissa, Ade and Evan, who have precision in their movements and some semblance of control over their limbs.

Pay attention bane! I wasn't saying the show was overrun by Broadway dancers. I was saying that the show was overrun this year by A LOT of Broadway dances. I was getting to the point of thinking that they had to at least have 1 Tyce dance choreographed each week. I am not the biggest fan of Broadway dances. I find most of them not that exciting. I do however enjoy a lot of the Fosse inspired choreo (which was not choreographed by Tyce). But on the whole, I appreciate Broadway dancing in the context of the actual musical. I am NOT a huge fan of it being on SYTYCD because for the most part it never is usually done well.

THAT was what I was saying my dear bane

As for the dancers. I do enjoy contemporary dancers. And uh, isn't Ade a contemporary dancer? Anyways, I liked Melissa alright. But I wasn't a huge fan of hers. I mean she's good. She just didn't inspire me to root for her. Evan I was rooting for as an underdog, but then by the end I did tire of him as well. I think the lack of inspiring choreographed pieces has a LOT to do with me not enjoying the dancers as much. This year I've maybe enjoyed 2 or 3 dances out of all of the dances done by the top 20!

But I guess it is 'to each his own'.

car I was talking to you! I wish they had those kinds of things here. Free. Oh well, I guess health-care is supposed to make up for that

And love those hilarious pics of graduation!

I love that one pic of your aunt!

Me three.

But, seriously, Bubble-Head, you had to post that twice to make your point come across?

Alright, mea culpa, you meant too many Broadway dances. I don't know. I kinda agree with you, but mostly because the new chick they brought is kinda eeping me out with her interpretation of that genre. It's probably the modern/edginess of her style that's rubbing me the wrong way.

When I see dance, I like to get a general sense of what's going on, you know? Some grace isn't a bad thing either. I mean, there's a song. One might want to, you know, choreograph to it.

Anyway, I like Tyce for the most part. It's not always fantabulous, but at least it makes sense to me. And, come on, his breast cancer piece was absolutely beautiful. Reminded me of last year's Adam and Eve number (or whatever it was with Will and the chick with the red hair...).

I don't know. I see minimal flailing from his pieces, so I tend to enjoy them.

I get what you mean. The lady's choreography is based on Fosse whose dance moves never really made sense. But I kind of like it because it's so weird and unique.

As for Tyce, the thing is, the dances you're mentioning are his 'contemporary' pieces....It's not his Broadway pieces. Perhaps you mean those too. But for the most part I love Tyce when he choreographs contemporary or jazz.

I just would love to see other choreographers more. More variety. But everyone has their favorite choreographers though I think.

Oh and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

And we ALL know it's FF's fault for my most EMPHATIC double posting my point

Well, I was working today. So, you know, it was what it was.

But it was weird, too. Not to make my boss sound like the male version of Miss Hannigan, but it was just weird how cheerily he sent the whole freaking company, one at a time, over to my cubicle to "harass" me with birthday wishes.

As you all know, I'm pretty ambivalent when it comes to birthday celebrations... or any sort of celebrations, really... So, you know, I try to have this day sort of just happen.

So, yeah, everyone at work was wishing me birthday. The boss's secretary sang Happy Birthday to me.

It was weird. Really weird.

Not necessarily bad weird. Just weird.
