Personally I like The Chopping Block because they had actual food critics come in and choose which team sucked the most Then they vote off the pair who sucked the most.

Yeah, well I think Gordon Ramsay is such a persona. To work in a kitchen under that kind of tension would never work. At least in his kitchen. I mean if you screw up of course you're gonna get yelled at but I think he goes to extremes to make it 'entertaining'. Which I don't.

I liked I think S2 of Hell's kitchen because there was a person who knew what she was doing and I was totally rooting for her. It's a lot easier when you choose people who can actually cook.

I like the Chopping Block because he gives critique that is learnable. Marco actually mentors. He wants them to do well Comparably to HK where Gordon seems to care less in a way. I don't know. I mean, apparently he was quite the hellraiser as well (Marco) and cussing out his trainees and even cutting one of the trainee's shirt ...yadda yadda. Made one cry.

But he seems to have mellowed over time it seems.

I think I like him because he seems soooooo passionate about food. He actually really thinks about it and how to create something great. Instead of certain celebrities who have these cook books and such just so they can rake in the money.

But I think anyone can be extremely attractive when they are in their element and talking or doing something they're passionate about.

Well, thanks for the explanation.

I actually love cooking shows myself, but more like the PBS Saturday line-up than reality show style, you know?

It must be some sort of leftover from my general annoyance at reality shows in general (with the one exception that is So You Think You Can Dance, but that's because dance is awesome to behold and, as opposed to that other dancing show, the contestants on this show actually come in being able to dance, so you don't feel like you're watching a desperate plea for C-list celebrity, you know?).

Anyway, I'm off to the country.

Wish me luck. And sunshine. But not too much. And no bugs. Especially no bugs.

Oh yeaaaaah no. I HATE reality shows for pretty much the most part. If I watch it's because I have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do.

SYTYCD is the exception where I will always watch. Although this season has been less than stellar and I kinda quit half way through rooting for someone. I did like Stacey Tookey's number this week. It was quite beautiful.

What I'd LOVE is to have a dance show. Like an actual show where choreographers come in and choreograph something new and different. I don't know. It's just you get so invested in some of these dancers and you'll never see them again! It's sad. I'd love it if Allison, Travis, Katee and some of the other dancers could make a show out of it. Not sure how it would work. But I'd love it if they didn't have it so much a vote off competition. I still love SYTCD, but sometimes I get sad because the dancer I love gets booted.

I'm hoping I have more luck with SYTYCD Canada. Last year I didn't like any of the dancers. And I"m hoping for a lot more variety for Canada and hopefully next year for America. This season seemed like there were SOOOO many broadway dances.

And I used to watch cooking shows all the time. Not celeb ones. But real ones. Loved them.

Oh have fun in the country. It's rainy drizzly over here in SK.....AGAIN!

OMGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH!

That was hilarious Kar You guys have the funnest times!

Do I dare add you as a facebook friend? Have we as OT TW Watchers surpassed the internet forum acquaintances into....RL acquaintances?

eta: Okay I just have to add that as I type this, this is the second night where I'm in my sis' room typing on the computer with BAGPIPE music playing in the background from somewhere outside filtering in from our window.

The first time I thought maybe a parade was passing through. Obviously I was wrong.

What the heck????

Got a new set of pics to post

Then I'll be back to catch up with you all

Citizen’s Fire Academy

Graduation Night

On the last night of the Citizen’s Fire Academy, all the participants invited family along, so I brought Sis. We had a great cookout, I received my certificate, and we got to do a few of the things we’d done in the academy. I think the firemen called it showing off our skills

Look at the yummy food… and I love the firehat pic in the cupcake!

Here I am receiving my certificate which states that I am an honorary member of the Fort Smith Fire Department

My friend Mistii (who went through the academy with me) and I with our cool FSFD t-shirts we also received on graduation night!

The firemen let us and our family members shot the waterhose, like we had done on the first night. Sis gave it a try:

And I shot the hose again, too!

We also rode up in the bucket of ladder truck!

Sis and our aunt in the bucket!

And me with the fireman who was driving the bucket.

And before we left, my aunt, my friend Mistii and I all posed with the firetruck.

Yea, I haven't seen Norla recently either

Jayta Did you ask how I got to do such cool things? Or were you asking Sis? I'll answer anyway, about the Citizen's Fire thing It's a free academy that anyone in the community can sign up for. If you are selected, you go through 8 weeks of these mini-classes

You have a facebook acount?

Sis Glad you posted that link! It was too much fun!

Sunny Hope you enjoy your time in the country, minus any bugs

Nikki
