I'm very confused. Kar's pictures show five dark-furred kittens, but Car's icon shows really pale-furred kittens. What's up with that?

Bubble-Head My life is hectic, which is not to be confused with scintillating. For instance, I got home tonight to a leak coming from our washer and my brother annoucing that he was off. So I called my mum and step-dad for help, before my brother actually left, so he heard the part where they were on their. Cue big huffy show of not going to his biweekly martial arts class.

Step-father and mum came over. Mum and I made shepherd's pie while the men fixed the washer.

See, wasn't that ever so much more interesting than watching paint dry?

Yeah, thought not.

Anyway, Saturday night was the big family palooza. Karine and I's cousin turned 30 earlier this month and her mum organized a big restaurant get-together for friends and family. This being our dads' side of the family, I really didn't expect much of a turnout on the family front of things. But, it wasn't half-bad in the end. It was interesting, seeing as the cousins and I/me and Karine hardly ever see each other, by which I mean that it had been upwards of six years since the last time we'd seen any of them.

Karine and I, you'll remember, see each other at least annually! Actually, we're past due for a good movie night.

I'll catch up more later. But some sad news ... Juan Pablo died this morning. I found him in the road. I'm guessing he'd been snake bit, either that or a kitty heart attack? No signs of any major trauma, he wasn't hit by a car, he wasn't attacked by a critter. Anyhow, Sis Kevin and I got him buried in the backyard under my oak tree. At least I have my indoor babies, and we have all Sis's previous babies (by Juan we're assuming) Bella, Smackey, Snow White, and Lily (Sunny those are the kitties in Sis's icon) and I am fairly sure that the newest batch are little Juan's too ....

It has been a very long day today.... Like Sis said, she found our little cat Juan Pablo dead this morning. Just so sad... It's so easy to get attached to those little guys...... He really had such a good life, though. She spoiled that little guy! And I'm glad I got to spend some quality time petting and loving on him Sunday.

Sunny the white kittens in my icon are from last summer.... the ones in the pic Sis posted are a new batch from a different mom I know, I'm becoming crazy cat lady

Poor Juan, he was a very lucky kitty and had a loving family.

Not much new here. First day in a week that it didn't snow so thats good. One of my kidlets is in the hospital with pneumonia so I went to visit her tonight and took her a little white Stuffy which she immediately named 'Marshall' Oh, and my choir came in 2nd at the music festival.

Well, I'm off to bed early tonight, so that I can read my new book!

Yes...family get togethers...I loved how I got so many "oh my god, you grew so much, you're so tall" when I probably saw them last I was 16/17 and just as tall as now But I guess it's always a shock to see the giant lady that I am

But it was nice to see everyone And the food was fabulous even though there was WAY too much of it.

Sorry I've been MIA, my life is pretty hectic as well. Between work, boxing, theatre and trying to maintain a social life, I'm pretty much exhausted.

Sunny Actually, making a shepherd's pie with my mom sounds like an exciting night...But that's probably because we barely cook together (or at all actually! lol)

Kar Quick question, when you come back, about your sig. So, if I don't hate cats, but I really, you know, don't love them either... does that means I get an option on coming back as, say, a chew toy of some sort? I'm just saying...

Karine Yeah, people are weird. It's like "You've grown so much" is the only thing people have to say when they haven't seen one another for a while. I mean, you don't see me going, "My God, have you shrunk?" to a particular cousin of ours who was never that tall, but who seems even shorter now that I've discovered the wonderful world of heels.



I guess people don't know to assume that other people have always been that height. Or, you know, that growing up is inevitable.

Mind you, if I ever see your brother or sister again, just watch me. I swear, even though I know better, the first words out of my mouth just might be, "My God, how much you've grown!"

So, I went to the acupuncture guy tonight. And it was fine. But, as sometimes happens after the acupuncture, I'm feeling a little kerflooey. And that's a scientific term, you know.

Anyway, I've been taking it real easy tonight, though I'm gonna have to get up at some point and make myself some lunch for tomorrow. Bleh.

What a day!

Well, ok, more accurately What an afternoon! Well the kids were maniacs and then we were working on our Research Fair project for the entire afternoon. I have the low kids, even though you 'never sort by ability level'. I like this group for research as all you have to to is spoon feed them all the information and then they can spit it back out at you!

Well anyway I'm helping the 'spiders' (researching spiders) while the 'butterflies' (researching butterflies) are working on labling their diagrams. The spiders are putting their information onto the SMARTboard when all of a sudden the red light on the SMARTboard comes on and the entire thing stops working Well, the computer still worked so the kids went to the computer to continue with their project. My former Kindergarten TA who now does early Lit was helping the computer kids and she's doing a great job, saving and helping with spelling etc, so I can work with the Butterflies.

Wouldn't you know it??? The entire district network crashed, which was why my SMARTboard borked. Well my TA is pretty certain she saved before the crash, so I'm pretty confident that the information is there somewhere, but at this point I'm having small coniption fits hoping that the Spiders don't have to re-do much of their work! They should only have 2 more screens to make, but the Butterflies still have their entire project to do, not to mention I have 3 of tomorrow's lessons ready for the SMARTboard!!!

Y'know, I love technology... until... arghhh

If it helps at all, I totally overslept this morning and have been feeling wonky ever since.

Also, I bought a pair of sandals I technically shouldn't have bought, seeing as I'd decided to not spend anymore money till the next paycheque comes in. It'll be alright in the end, because they're comfortable, so I'll end up wearing them till they die, but I still feel guilty.

what's up with the weather? This morning +22C so I went out on the deck and read for a few hours and got a little more colour on my fading Dominican tan. Then it clouds up and the rain starts and now they are predicting snow for the morning!! I wish it would decide!

Right now Milo is meowing at me though wanting outside. I've tried to find time to let him out every day (babysitting him so he won't get in trouble) but he's gotta wait a while. Mom's dogs are out right now.
