Hello Sunny!

What are you up to?
I got a lot of what I wanted done, yes.

And I was smart yesterday in that I finalized the grocery shopping I needed to do ahead of my return to work this week.

So I don't have to go outside today.

I can focus on the house chores.

Which is good because I think I may have caught something Friday when my landlady woke me up at 8am (after I'd gone to bed at 2am) to get someone in the house to change a mechanism in my front windows, letting in all kinds of really cold air.

I'm okay. But I have zero energy and my sinuses are pissed off.

So my day today will be laundry and TV.

If I can manage all that.

Very good! And whoohoo on getting the groceries needed ahead of time!

It's always nice having a day where you can stay in.

That sucks. I hope you're feeling better.

Still, a bonus is you get to stay in, and don't have a lot left to do. I hope you enjoy your TV.

I'm watching the race-typical Sunday.

Did some coloring, and we went to Dollar General.

Got a few Christmas decorations.

It's nice to have a relaxing, routine-y sort of things for the weekend, I find.

Well, I like it anyway.

Today was a rough landing back at work.

Nothing too dramatic.

I think I had just gotten used to being on vacation and it was time to get back to work.

I did stay in yesterday.

I managed to get my laundry done and then I cut up a bunch of vegetables and put them in the freezer, so they'll be ready to go when I start cooking again.

And, bonus point, they won't rot on me.

Tonight is election day here in Canada.

But I voted ahead, as you know, so I also get to stay in tonight.

And I need it, because the day wasn't that bad, but it was hard getting back to work.

So I'm tired.

Sunny getting back from vacation is always hard, I believe.

It's a rhythm you get into on vacation, and then work is a whole other rhythm.

Yeah, routine weekends cause much less stress-for me because there are things to be done, but it's familiarity and habit.

You got a lot done. Having those veggies ready will really help when you start cooking, and not rotting, always a plus.

I'm glad you voted ahead. It helped you out.

Have to go back to the dentist on Tuesday to get a tooth pulled.

Didn't do much but see the dentist yesterday and today, and Ali on Monday, which was good, cause I still had that migraine.

It sounds like you had a very productive couple of days.

With a migraine, it's impressive that you got so much done, seriously.

And, hey, not doing more was actually good for you because you're system needed every shred of energy to fight off that migraine, so you did a whole lot more than you give yourself credit for.

Today was/is my mother's birthday.

We're going out (again) on Sunday to celebrate at her favourite restaurant.

The one with carpeted floors and a menu fit for a crowd of 60-year-olds.

Funnily enough, it's never very crowded either.

So my mum loves it, because she hates hearing other people talking around her.

Thanks for the support Sunny.

It's hard for me to notice what I do.

Yeah, and I'm happy the migraine is finally gone.

Tell her I said Happy Birthday even though I'm late now.

Yikes, that doesn't sound very appetizing. Do they have some food you do like, and can eat?

I can understand that, cause I hate crowded, loud restaurants.

Not too much going on around here. Not that I can think of.

San Andreas is out on Pay Per View now, so I may do that.

I really want to see that movie.

Love the new thread title.

Well my city is in our local news twice today. Once because a lady was shot and left for dead on the side of the road South of town. She's alive in critical condition. The other story is national news, the first identified soldier to die in the anti ISIS ground fight (rescuing hostages) was a guy who graduated year ahead of me inn school. The news is reporting he lives in Roland OK the nextbtown over.

Kar I hope your news isn't reporting that this is the first soldier to die in the fight against Daesh period. Because, if they are... then it's little wonder Americans pass off as self-involved around the world.

Soldiers from Iraq, Yemen, Turkey, Egypt and who knows where else have already died.

It's obviously a terrible loss, and being the first U.S. casualty, is bound to bring the situaiton home.

But dozens and dozens of soldiers have died in that fight already.

Kimmie Fair enough on prefering quiet restaurants.

I guess the sound doesn't affect me as well.

And then I start thinking "but it's a public space, how do you expect to be the only one there?" when my mother insists on it.

But it's the weekend, so I'm gonna let it go.

The week was very difficult.

I think I had a bit of a fever at work yesterday, but since my fevers never register on the thermometer, there's no point in doing anything about it.

So it was just a very, very long day.

I think the news is saying the first US soldier in that particular issue. I was using the headline from our local news, but since they've been focusing on the only American to die in thus rescue attempt. All I know is our little towns have been overrun with media.

Loooong day of errands, didn't even get everything I wanted done. Ah well

You did what you could, I'm sure.

And thanks for the explanation on the soldier story.

I'm sure I came off kinda aggressive there and I'm sorry.

It's just that I get frustrated with the U.S. news media sometimes and how it presents news like it didn't happen until it happened in the United States, you know?

Ah, you're good, no worries. I can imagine that the American news media skews things in our favor.

Watching football today.

I do have an appointment to get my hair trimmed Tuesday. It's way past time for that

Not a whole lot here either.

I "cleaned" house ahead of the cleaning lady coming.

Later, I think my sister-in-law is coming over so that my brother can pick us both up to go have supper for my mom's and stepdad's birthdays.

He was supposed to call to confirm, but he hasn't.

He's playing hockey this afternoon, hence why I can't just call him to check.

And that's it.

Still feeling kinda loopy, probably from the vaccine.
