But I had to make chicken salad for my lunches. And you're sweet for worrying about be, but I didn't have to shovel a whole lot in the end. Yesterday's snow really wasn't much to write home about. And I hope you feel better. There's nothing worse than feeling sick. Quote:
How was your trip? I hope it was fantastic. I'm glad to see you back. __________________

Thanks for the new thread with the awesome new title Sunny!
I'm so glad to hear you got a good sleep. We got 3 inches, and our curvy, hilly road is frozen. Slip n slide for the small amount of traffic coming through. It's snow showered tiny flakes all day, and that's what it piled up to. Thanks. I slept most of yesterday, under two heavy fleece quilts, a fleece blanket, and fleece sheets, wearing heavy pjs. I still had trouble getting warm for a while. But I am feeling so much better so far. And happy to see sunshine! Welcome back Ju! Hope you had an awesome trip! |

I've had that song stuck in my head for a while. I kinda like it.
We're having a couple of very cold days here, but it's supposed to warm up some over the weekend. We'll see. I want to get some more grocery shopping done at the weekend, and I really hate going there when it's windy and cold. It's really not that far from my house, but it seems like miles and miles away when it's cold and the wind is blowing in my face. We'll see, I guess. I'm really trying to find ways to make it easy on myself right now. __________________

Crossing a parking lot when it's cold and windy makes it seem miles! I can't imagine you having to watch further in it.
Remember to take a list so you don't forget anything, Yay for you taking it easy on yourself. It's supposed to warm up here too. Not much else going on here today. |

Yeah, not much to report here either.
It was hard to get to work this morning. Something was wrong with the metro. I mean, a woman died in the metro this morning, but that was in a completely separate part of the system. Like, almost the opposite end of where I was, so it shouldn't have any impact on my morning. Not sure why it was so slow. But that's really all there is to report on the day. I did notice that the sun was still up when I got home from work. Well, it had probably set, but it was still light out. So that's the first time I've noticed that since before Christmas. That cheered me up. __________________

New thread!
Sounds like you guys are rolling along like usual. I took yesterday and today off work to get some things caught up around the house. Yesterday I did all the cleaning that I didn't get done last weekend because I worked. Then I finished the book I'd been reading, and caught up on the Bachelor's from this season. I was REALLY bored with the first eppy or two, but it's getting back to the old crazy entertainment it'd been before. I was PLANNING to help Dad with the limbs in his year but it was too windy. But we did get his medicare/supplement insurance worked out. I just need to get by the Social Security office to see about this low income form he can fill out to see if he can get a reduced cost. Today I got all the wood ready next door for this crazy week of weather they are predicting. We're supposed to get three separate winter weather events this upcoming week, the one at the end being potentially a significant weather event. And I need to do my ironing. And if the rain holds off help Dad with the limbs in his yard. Tomorrow will be usual shopping and town errands and then I'll help Kevin with limbs in our yard. He plans to trim all the trees tomorrow and we'll start picking up the limbs and finish Sunday. And Sunday is SUPERBOWL SUNDAY! So anyone got plans this weekend? Anyone read anything good lately? Anyone cooked anything YUMMY or fun lately? I actually made some mini chicken pot pies last night and they were yum yum. __________________

Yeah Sunny, the days are definitely getting longer.
I wonder what kept you held up this morning. Celebrating Mom's birthday today. Kev and I are spending time hanging out with her, and I got her some markers to color with. Our road is solid ice now. Or it was this morning. A minivan missed our mailbox by less than a foot, coming from the other direction. Karen, wow you're having busy days off! I hope you're having some fun too. Stay warm getting the branches done! I haven't decided if I'm going to watch the Superbowl. I love Peyton Manning, so I root for Denver, but I really like Seattle, so I can't lose, I might end up watching. Not me. Nothing much is going on here, but I've mostly been sleeping a lot. |

Kar My plans for the weekend are very limited to trying to relax and recover from the last two weeks.
My cleaning lady is coming tomorrow, so I do have to prep for that, and I also have to run by the grocery store. But that's it. I got my slow cooker and casserole recipes done over the last two weeks. Lots of chicken with fruit and vegetables. Which reminds me, I need to pick up cauliflower at the grocery store, because I need to make another batch of soup for my lunches... I just finished Size 14 is Not Fat Either, by Meg Cabot. It was as good as I remembered. Kimmie I have no idea what was the holdup on Thursday morning. Like I said, the woman who died (and she died away from the tracks, so it wouldn't have created an "issue") was at the complete other end of the grid. Did your mom enjoy her birthday and birthday presents? __________________

Yes my mom did Sunny! She did absolutely nothing all day, and loved it.
I hope you are getting some rest and relaxation. I love cauliflower. Not much is going on here. Snow finally melted for the most part-it rained yesterday afternoon and it was also pretty warm. Ran several errands, and I got some organizing boxes at Dollar General. |

Glad you had a good birthday celebration with your Mother, Kimmie. And organizing boxes are always good. I end up with the wrong sizes most of the time though Hard to guess exactly what sizes you need.
Sunny, I need to get better at prepping lunches for the work week. I sometimes do, but it's not a regular thing. But I always keep cans of soup and peanut butter etc at work in case I forget to bring something or can't go out. Lately I do leftovers from Dad's dinner. Got most of my stuff accomplished. Still haven't gotten the limbs yet. It took 1 1/2 hours to fix dad's door on Friday so the limbs had to wait. Maybe today, but there are predicting snow/ice. So who knows __________________

Karen, snow and ice are baaaaad for limb collecting. I vote no. Just kick back and prepare for the SuperBowl.

Kar It's not like I work very hard on my lunches. I empty my fridge of vegetables when they start looking like they're about to turn. That's the soup.
And then I shred chicken, mince celery and chop dried cranberries, that's the sandwiches. It's a large enough batch that it last me all week, and that's the story of my lunches. Mind you, I have lunch with people who have all kinds of variants on what they bring, so it's not like I think there's just one way to do lunch. Kimmie I'm so glad your mother enjoyed her day. And I hope you enjoy yours. __________________
