Third Watch - Criminal Minds Discussion — Because we will support Bernie wherever he goes

As you all know, Kar and I have decided to start some threads on other shows where Third Watch alumn have displayed their immense talent.

Third Watch, as you also probably know, was produced—if not outright created—by Edward Allen Bernero, aka Bernie.

Criminal Minds is also a Bernie-produced show, so we thought we might all enjoy some discussion on the subject.

Those of you who watch the show will know that the picture above is awefully dated since it shows Lola Glaudini (Elle), who is no longer on the show, and does not show A.J. Cook (JJ), Kirsten Vangsness (Garcia) and the most recent addition to the cast, Paget Brewster (Emily Prentiss).

If can provide better, or prettier, art, please feel free to do so.

Oh, hey, no problem.

I've been watching my season 1 DVDs and I just can't get over how much I love this show. I love the chemistry between all the characters.

Which is interesting because I thought I would really resent it if they removed Elle, and I find that I haven't been missing her so much.

What do you think of her replacement, Emily?

Hmmm ... guess I have't seen Emily yet, or else don't know the characters well enough. See, for some reason the main guy, that actor, bugs me, so I just don't watch a lot for him. The one that's on the Crestor or whatever commerical.

But I have noticed when I watch the show, I LOVE the overall feel/intensity of it. And I actually remember one day thinking to myself ... reminds me of some of the feel/techniques of the show that I enjoyed about Third Watch.

I feel kind of sad now that I quit watching this show. I did really love it, but I had so much going on toward the end of the first season I just lost track of it... Obviously the first thing that drew me to it was the fact that it was Bernie's show. And that Mandy Patinkin was in it...because I first loved him in Chicago Hope.

Kar I agree about it having a sort of TW feeling sometimes.

This was one show that I thought had an AWESOME pilot. Did anyone see the pilot? That was what originally hooked me...

I've only seen two episodes and that's because Jason was in one of them. I think I watched another one, but it didn't get me hooked. Skipp is on Wednesday's episode, apparently.

Don't feel bad about missing the episode; I have a feeling that it was a last minute replacement for a show that CBS pulled.

I can't remember where I saw it, but I read that CM will be getting the lucrative post-Super Bowl spot this year, as CBS is broadcasting the game this year. I wonder what the ratings will be like? I wonder if it will do what it did for Grey's last year? Guess we will have to find out in January....

I'm not sure they can do what the Superbowl did for Grey's Anatomy: They used a three-way shower with women to grab the Superbowl crowd's attention for GA. Now, I know they technically have the female count to do it on CM, but somehow I don't think they'll be able to do it quite the same way.

I saw Skipp's episode, at long last... and I'm floored by Shemar Moore's talent. Which is interesting because, while I've always found him to be super charming, that's never been the case. Skipp's part was really thankless: the bad, possibly racist, cop who is wrong but is still dogged about not seeing what's right in front of him till there's no possible other way to look at it. Still, it was great to see him again.

And, what do you know, Hotch made a joke and smiled.

I missed Skipp.
