I don't think God has nothing to say about our lives.

I just believe in a benevolent god who's got better things to do with ITS time (sorry, I don't believe in a god that's male or female, so that's the best I can do for pronouns) than to inflict things on us for funsies.

I believe we exist because God loves us.

I believe God can help us heal, physically and emotionally, but I also believe IT gave us free will for a reason.

So there's a point where I believe it's on us.

It's like that proverb, "Give a man a fish, you fee him for a day; teach a man how to fish, you feed him for life."

God gave us everything we need to fish. We have brains and hearts and science and all manners of different tools.

If God does everything for us or is behind everything that ever happens, what's the point of even being here?

And, to me, the point of being here is so that our soul, the part of us I 100% believe is made by God, learns and grows.

Because, when we die, all we get to keep is the love we have and the things our soul has.

ITS works for me. I agree with you there.

I think we haven't been taught to fish, as it were.

I feel totally unprepared and thrown into life, where I was also victimized from the time I was a so young.

So it feels inflicted.

That makes sense to me, the way you see things, and I don't really disagree with that.

I just never got to a point where I could forgive it happening to me, and never healed so I could grow and learn.

So, I think I just am very different from you in that regard.

I think it's amazing you believe the way you do, and that you don't blame anyone.

I am just different. And I start at the top.

You had a particularly bad early experience in life.

No argument there.

And obviously that harmed your life in significant ways.

But I would be inclined to believe that the people who did that to you were responsible for their own actions.

I don't think they were inflicting their nastiness on you as vessels from God.

I think they did that on their own.

So to me you don't have to forgive them.

I just think they weren't acting on behalf of God.

I don't feel particularly prepared to handle the world, but then we all have to learn on our own eventually.

But I don't blame God for that.

You can't start school knowing everything.

What would be the point of going to school if you did?

I came here this morning to edit the last post I did.

I didn't mean to trip out on you. This topic just brought a lot of stuff back up.

I guess I blame because the "everything happens for a reason" thing.

I don't get it. There is no good lesson, not that I'm willing to learn, from it.

But I thought about it, and there probably were lessons along the way. It's just being put into one situation after the next, I never learned what was wrong to live with.

So I just don't get any of what it means, but I do get what you're saying.

And I understand your view for you, but for me, it's something different.

Well, perhaps we had better leave things as is then.

Obviously, we have a difference of opinion, and that's 100% okay.

I completely respect where you're coming from.

But it's not like I can give you answers about your own experience.

So it just remains that I believe we go through what we go through for a reason.

Yeah, I agree.

And I 100% respect where you're coming from, and your beliefs, as well.

I hope that was clear.

I just went into my own spiral of the past, and that freaked me out.

Nothing we said, just me getting too far into my past for my own taste.

Oh, we always have mutual respect.

That much is clear.

Just like it was pretty clear, too, that you've been in a negative spiral.

So, no worries.

I'm a big girl.

I know when stuff is of my doing and when it isn't.

Yeah, I'm definitely in an Eeyore place at the moment.

Have been for a while.

Trying to work on it, and it's starting to get where I think, and then I have a choice as a result.

I want to be Pooh more again.

If you hadn't mentioned Pooh, I would have had no idea what you meant there.

I'm afraid there weren't Pooh stories in my childhood.

So I know who the characters are, but I don't really follow the analogy.

At any rate, I wish you the best.

Pooh is so cheery and positive. Eeyore is gloomy. Tigger is fun. And Piglet is afraid.

I don't know if you were knowing that or not.

Wow, I didn't realize that. Pooh was a big part of my life.

They all suit me at one time or another.

Makes it easy for me to explain.

Thank you.

It's great that you have found a way to explain.

I'm sorry that it doesn't mean much to me, though.

Like I said, I didn't really do cartoon or comics or "drawn stuff" when I was a kid.

So there really wasn't a Pooh.

But I get it now that you've explained it.

I wish us all Pooh.
