It was originally supposed to come out in April 2017! It's been pushed back for three years, it's insane. I still have no interest in the movie, but I'm glad they are finally releasing the damn thing. Just get it over with already.

seriously it's at the point where everyone thinks it's a running joke every time a release date is announced.
It's great for Josh Boone, though, that things are finally happening. I remember reading that he was in a lot of conflict with the studio about the type of genre and age group they were aiming for. He wanted something dark and true to the source material. __________________

^ Many months later and it's safe to say that NEW MUTANTS wasn't received as well as Josh Boone would've hoped.
Anyway, this tweet about Magneto is so accurate __________________

^ Definitely the best of the bunch. I really don't care for the McAvoy ones to be honest

Like I said, the Fox X Men movies are a mixed bag. Some are good and some are REALLY bad lol. I still prefer the X Men movies with the original cast to the First Class cast. I think the best X Men films are X2, First Class (Recently rewatched this, and I like it more now than I used to) Days of Future Past, and Logan. I can't wait to see what the MCU does with the X Men. I heard on Wandavision they are dropping X Men hints and had Fox's Quicksilver in one of the episodes, so I'm glad we are finally getting some rumblings about them at least.

HJ killed it as Wolverine and I don't see any other actor playing the role as well as he did. So the torture was worth it lol.

I saw it 2 days ago
To sum up: didn't love it, didn't hate it as much as some critics did; worst thing was the obvious shout-out in general to woke crowds in various ways. The main girl felt pointless. Her backstory with her dad was just abandoned once they added in a pointless love story between her and Maisie Williams' character. The Charlie Heaton / Anya Taylor-Joy / Henry Zaga trio actually worked. Probably because they're very good friends in real-life and it translated well. But the film itself doesn't even feel like a stand-alone movie... It ends open-ended, and it's frustrating because the effects of their mutant powers are visually stunning but they are treated like a means to an end rather than actually people who serve a greater purpose in the X-Men universe. The doctor was annoying. But I did notice the eerie comparison to the story-arc of the mental patients in Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors almost felt like a rip-off, but it's forgivable because it was only of the few intriguing elements. But yeah, felt like the studio made this one suffer with the constant delays and script re-writers. Josh Boone (director) had a great vision of a dark/scary movie that gets overshadowed by a rather empty overall arc. I certainly didn't hate it, though. And I'd probably re-watch it. Another brief gripe: the characters' OTT accents all felt like some attempt to promote diversity. __________________

Even before the 1678436574836 delays, I never had any interest in seeing The New Mutants. It always looked like a crappy movie IMO. I'll be glad when the X Men get a fresh start in the MCU.
