That's still a great title! Heh!

Last movie I (re)watched was Strange Days. This movie was made in the mid 1990's but it still captured the craziness of welcoming in the new millenium. I remember New Years Eve 1999, and it was totally something like that! The movie has its own plot, and it's a good one. The end of the world atmosphere is a great cradle for the baby, the story.

The movie isn't perfect and it has weak points and it starts getting sloppier in the second half but it's still good!

Original/Remake: Original
Year: 2007
Actors/Actresses: Matthew Macfadyen, Alan Tudyk and Peter Dinklage
Plot: Chaos ensues when a man tries to expose a dark secret regarding a recently deceased patriarch of a dysfunctional British family.
What did you like about it? I really, really liked it. I thought that it was a very smart comedy. There were times when I couldn't stop laughing
What did you not like about it? Dragged in a couple of places
Your overall personal rating: out of 5 Stars

I have a question about the spoiler tags for the plot of the movie. Wouldn't people want to know what the film is about so they know whether or not they'd like to see it? Shouldn't the spoiler tags go on only if you're going to reveal an actual spoiler for the film? That would mean it should be listed with what you liked and disliked about the film.

Prom Night.. - I give it a negative 0 out of 5.

Why I watched it, I will never know? It was beyond horrible. It was honestly just like watching a cheesy 80's horror movie. The acting was horrible, the plot was dumb, the dialogue was cheesy, the killer was amature, the death scenes were laughable and it was a remake of a movie, that in no way shape or form, was similar to the original. I'm not even sure why it was called Prom Night, or a remake. I'm still trying to figure that one out. I don't ven know where to begin, so I won't. I'll leave it as the worst remake I have ever seen, since Black Christmas and Psycho.

I mean, I am not exaggerating. I am a horror movie buff and I'll watch any horror movie and I love Cheesy 80's flick, but WOW, it was terrible.

Spoiler:
There is honestly so much wrong with the film, that I don't know where to begin. From the moment she walked in the door in the opening scene and tripped over the bat, it looked so fake and that is when, I knew we were going to be in for a horrible night. I mean, she takes the bat to her brother's room, to tell him, she almost killed herself and he's just lying on the bed and when she realizes he's dead, there is just no emotion, it's like oh.... your dead, then she watched her mom get killed and right then, you see the killer's face, within 10 minutes. I like to at least have a little mystery with my killers. Then flash forward three years and it's Prom and all of a sudden, the man is out of jail and heads straight to the Hotel where the prom is, in plain view. He's their ex-teacher and noone recognize's him, until half way through the movie? Come on.. Then they spend half the movie in the hotel rooms, bitching and crying and having to go back and forth, for non-sense. I mean, they spent more time away from the Prom, then at it. Oh and I can't forget the scene, where her bestfriend FINALLY realizes the guy she saw, was in fact her stalker/teacher and runs to go tell her and somehow, ends up in a basement, when all she had to do, was pick up her phone and call her, to warn her and oh don't even get me started on the Fire Drill. There is a fire drill and BS's character, is like oh I left something in my room, I'm going to go get it and get's on an elevator, WTF, isn't that like a FIRE DON'T, do not get on an elevator during a fire drill/fire? Then when the killer finally get's to her, She stands their pulling her hair in the middle room asking him to leave her alone, instead of finding some kind of object to knock him out with it and when she finally get's away, they let her go home now, instead of taking her to safety, but I guess they assumed, since he was in prison for three years and had zero contact, that he possibly would have no clue where she was living, but instead, he goes straight there, where instead of a swat team, there is a police car and a dumb police officer, of course and I'm sorry, but the whole silence of the lambs, blood dripping from the air duct and someone falling out, with a switched identity, has already been done. It was truely and horrible movie.

I'm sorry you had to endure that! I'm also a huge fan of horror films, B-movies, Cheesy 80's flicks... But I hate remakes so I wasn't going to pay to see that film anyway. Glad to know that I won't be missing anything!

***BLONDIE*** - Hahaha I read your review and spoilers and could not help but laugh! Sorry, I didn't mean to be un-sympathetic (is there such a word?) of your pain but the way you worded your review is so funny! I hope you didn't pay for that film

***BLONDIE***, oh I loved your review . Hee, I was considering watching it, really just for the pure fun of a corny horror. But that just sounds far too stupid and frustrating .

2 days ago in a theater....

'the visitor'

a college professor befriends an illegal immigrant couple.....

'the visitor' is a character driven film...quiet, thoughtful, assured, deliberate in it's storytelling...imo it's the best post 9/ll american film to date....proving that there's nothing patriotic about the patriot act.....

Last Friday I saw The Forbidden Kingdom. It was awesome! I loved it! Jackie Chan and Jet Li make such a good team. They're fight scenes were great and I was laughing so hard.
