When The Painted Veil was first released I kept telling myself to go see it...but I never did. I'll definitely have to pick it up as soon as I have some cash.

Blades of Glory: Still funny, but the bf is running it into the ground. What is with boys watching the same movie over and over and over and over (do you get the point yet?) again?

The Painted Veil was a beautiful film.

I heard that Ed Norton used money from his own pocket to pay for the rights to film certain scenes in the country because they fit the movie.

I thought that was awesome.

Yes exactly Nikki... I loved the story between Kitty and Walter Fane, I loved the way they fell back in love with each other, but somehow the ending just leaves you a little cold and expecting a little more. If you take away the ending though, it's a beautiful story with amazing visuals - a bit slow going, but good. taovande, you should try to watch it one day, you may like it. And Ms_Melika, I didn't know that! I did know it was a labour of love for Ed Norton though. I think that's awesome too.

I might be mistaken in what it was he actually bought, but he put a lot of his own money in for scenes. But I thought that was really awesome too!

I loved how he went from bitter to enchanted once again and she began seeing him with other guys too. Ahh, so great.

I think he spent his own money for the field scenes. He bought everything needed to grow those beautiful long fields.

^^ Yes that was it! Thank you!

But I've never really heard of an actor putting money into their own film like that. It was just awesome!

The Wackness Absolutely awesome!!!! Ben Kingsly is a God in my book and Josh Peck has come a long way for starting off as a child star. Very funny and I just loved that it was set in 1994. The soundtrack is amazing You all need to try to catch this film.

Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson It's a fantastic documentary on this genius writer. It's narrated by Johnny Depp BTW Anyway, I really didn't know too much about Thompson but after watching this, I think that he was such an interesting and amazing man. Another film I highly recommend to you.

Wow, Chris, you went all out! I want to watch both. Good to hear you liked them.

I want them to finally make Gonzo's "The Rum Diary," now with this documentary maybe interest will build again.

Yeah, it's been "in production" for years now. They keep moving it around because of the Pirate movies and then the strike happened....(Same thing with Shantaram which I can't wait for them to make!)

I've heard of other actors putting their own money into pictures before...off the top of my head Sharon Stone put money into the Quick and the Dead and I believe threatened to quit the project or offered to pay Leo Dicaprio's fees because she wanted him in the movie so badly.

Get Smart - Steve Carell is always funny and this movie had tons of laughs, but some of it in my honest opinion was really stupid, but I still enjoyed it! It's good to see a laugh out loud film like this sometimes!

I watched Out of Africa last night with Robert Redford and Meryl Streep. It was a bit long for my liking but beautifully shot and their romance was awesome! I could totally see both of their arguments about what relationships are and it was very sad how it ended but a very good story.
