Beautiful Vampire (Korean movie)

Honestly, I enjoyed this short movie in it's entirety.

It was a lot of fun watching the other side of vampire life... the side where vampires pay rent and do human things to fit in.

The little romance story that it had was sweet, too. The chemistry between the FL/ML was fire. Their love story progressed nicely for a 73 minute little movie. I will definitely rewatch this some time.

I also enjoyed the credit scenes. Ran's jealousy. lol. And the last one left it open for a second movie down the line if the writers want to ever go there.

All in all, I loved this and it got a 5/5 from me!

Trick R Treat-I've seen it many times...it’s a Halloween tradition! It’s a good movie...not scary but slightly cheesy but it has to be 😂. I would recommend it!

OK. "Village of the Damned" was good too.

Movie: "Hellraiser"
Year Released: 1987
Starring: Andrew Robinson, Clare Higgins, Doug Bradley, Ashley Laurence, & Sean Chapman, among others.
Plot: "A woman discovers the newly resurrected, partially formed, body of her brother-in-law. She starts killing for him to revitalize his body so he can escape the demonic beings that are pursuing him after he escaped their sadistic underworld."
Rating out of 5: 4.
Comments: "Hellraiser" is a well made Horror film with an estimated budget of $1,000,000 back in 1987. The scene where Julia uses a hammer to kill someone she lured up to the attic for Frank was brutal. She did that for a blood sacrifice for Frank. Also a homeless man eating bees in a pet store & disappearing was odd & disturbing. I will point out that this film not overly violent or bloody in most scenes. There are occasions where there is a lot of blood & violence, but generally I don't think it's used too much in this movie.

Movie: "Always Watching: A Marble Hornets Story"
Year Released: 2015
Starring: Doug Jones, Alexandra Breckenridge, Jake McDormand, & Chris Marquette, among others.
Plot: "A series of paranormal events interrupts a student production of "Project Marble Hornets."
Rating out of 5 3.
Comments: I enjoyed watching this film. I think that the frustrating part was 1 of the main characters not believing another "Milo" when he told him about a mark appearing on his neck. I'll try not to spoil too much for you if ones plan to watch thid. There's someone called "The Operator" in it & he's similar to the "Slender Man".

Just saw a brilliant film today called American Woman, starring Sienna Miller. Best performance I've seen from her, and her character goes through such an emotional transformation as she loses her daughter over a period of more than a decade & has to raise her grandchild / cope with not knowing what happened to her daughter.

Also stars Aaron Paul as her love interest and Christina Hendricks as her sister.

4/5 movie. I was really surprised and impressed.

I will say though that it felt like I was watching a reconstruction on the I.D. channel at times (as it follows a family's story similarly to a real crime/disappearance story). If this type of drama is for you, I would recommend.

Glad that you enjoyed that film. I watched "Hellbound: Hellraiser II" over the weekend.

Movie: "Hellbound: Hellraiser II"
Year Released: 1988
Starring: Ashley Lawrence, Doug Bradley, Imogen Boorman, & Claire Higgens, among others.
Plot: "Kirsty is brought to an institution after the horrible events of Hellraiser (1987), where the occult-obsessive head-doctor resurrects Julia and unleashes the Cenobites and their demonic underworld."
Rating out of 5 3.
Comments: "Hellbound: Hellraiser II" is similar to the first film in this franchise. It had young people once again play the roles of stopping Pinhead & the Cenobites, along with Julia & this doctor. I will point out that Clive Barker did not direct this film as he did previously with "Hellraiser". If you enjoyed watching the original "Hellraiser" movie, I think this is worth checking out also. It is a solid sequel.

Movie: "The Rock"
Year Released: 1996
Starring: Sean Connery, Nicolas Cage, & Ed Harris, among others.
Plot: "FBI chemical warfare expert Stanley Goodspeed (Nicolas Cage) is sent on an urgent mission with a former British spy, John Patrick Mason (Sean Connery), to stop Gen. Francis X. Hummel (Ed Harris) from launching chemical weapons on Alcatraz Island into San Francisco. Gen. Hummel demands $100 million in war reparations to be paid to the families of slain servicemen who died on covert operations. After their SEAL team is wiped out, Stanley and John Deal with the soldiers on their own m"
Rating out of 5 3.
Comments: I enjoyed watching "The Rock". Ed Harris plays a terrific villain. The cast is terrific that also includes Vanessa Marcil, David Morse, & William Forsythe. There's a lot of action in this movie & it's run time is over 125 minutes.

Watched Doctor Sleep, the sequel to The Shining

It was... Eh. Not too bad. Superior to the recent remakes of IT and Pet Sematary.

The plot of the kids' souls being sucked out of them translated well visually to the screen. The smoke and the terror, plus the creepy eyes of the murderers... Very well done. Ewan McGregor did a good job in the lead role.

Cons: It just felt like an unnecessary follow-up. Giving Jack Torrance's son a depressing continuation story feels like a betrayal of his great escape at the end of The Shining.

Also, I cringed a lot at the attempt to remake key scenes from The Shining, e.g. the twins, the blood coming out of the elevator, Jack's wife screaming (I was too distracted by the obvious fact that it wasn't the original actress).

Plenty of times I felt very sleepy the pacing isn't great.

I'd probably give it 2.5 out of 5

Movie: "The Laundromat"
Year Released: 2019
Starring: Meryl Streep, Gary Oldman, Antonio Banderas, David Schwimmer, & Sharon Stone, among others.
Plot: "When her idyllic vacation takes an unthinkable turn, Ellen Martin begins investigating a fake insurance policy
Rating out of 5 3.
Comments: I thought that "The Laundromat" was a well acted movie that dealt with a complex system of laws which benefited wealthy people & corporations by allowing them to avoid paying taxes & paying consequences. Jurgen Mossack & Ramon Fonseca tried to get "The Laundromat" blocked from being released on Netflix by filing a defamation suit against that company last year. With a court decision was still pending 13 months ago & on the 18th of October last year "Laundromat" was released on Netflix.

1BR-I found it on Netflix...it was ok...not what I was expecting. Definitely not scary but it had a pretty good story. Not for everyone but I’d recommend it.

It recently premiered on TV movie channels, around the time of Halloween.

I knew someone who had read the novel a couple of years ago and they said it was genuinely creepy.

I'm still not sold on the idea that it really added anything to the mythology of The Shining and making Danny go through so much trauma after what happened to him as a child just felt like watching some torturous ongoing family tragedy.

They also cut Jack's wife/ Danny's mother out of the film earlier on after filming a few fake flashbacks of new actors supposedly to convey that she and Danny are emotionally struggling and financially in trouble after the events of the first film/novel. Given that she was a key character in The Shining, I was disappointed. However, I think the writers got rid of her so you wouldn't be too distracted by the presence of an actress replacing Shelley Duvall.

Interesting. I watched "A Christmas. Carol" from 1951 overnight on Sunday.

"A Christmas Carol"
Year Released: 1951
Starring: Alastair Dim, Michael Hordern, & Mervyn Johns, among others.
Plot: "Crotchety Victorian businessman Ebenezer Scrooge (Alastair SIM) has no use for festivity, even at Christmas. After resentfully allowing timid clerk Bob Cratchit (Mervyn Johns( to have the holiday to spend with his loving wife (Hermione Badgely( and family, Scrooge is swept into a nightmare. The ghost of his late partner, Jacob Marley (Michael Borden), appears, warning that Ebenzar will be visited by three more spirits who will show the coldhearted man the error of his ways.
Rating out of 5 5.
Comments: This 1951 version of "A Christmas Carol" is favourite Christmas themed movie. Alastair Sim was incredible as ''Ebenezar Scrooge". He was so bitter. Incredible film. Loved it. I'll try do watch this again on Christmas Day.

Coherence.

It's about a group of friends who get together for dinner as a comet is passing overhead, and weird stuff starts happening... It kind of deals with the question of how choices we make affect us.

OK. Who was in it? I watched "Dr. No" this week.

Movie: "Dr. No"
Year Released: 1963
Starring: Sean Connery, Ursula Andrews, Joseph Wiseman, & Jack Lord, among others.
Plot: "In the film that launched the James Bond saga, Agent 007 (Sean Connery) battles mysterious Dr. No, a scientific genius bent on destroying the U.S. space program. As the countdown to disaster begins, Bond must go to Jamaica, where He encounter beautiful Honey Ryder (Ursula Andress, to confront a megalomaniacle villain in his massive island headquarters."
Rating out of 5 5.
Comments: To begin this massive series "Dr. No" was fantastic! Excellent cast lead by the late Sean Connery. Now, this film is based on the 1958 novel with that same title. "Casino Royale" was actually though the debut for Bond. "SPECTRE" was not introduced until the 1961 novel "Thunderball".

Also, "Dr. No" had a low budget of less than $1,500,000. Nevertheless it was a box office hit & overtime is considered by many to be 1 of the best films in the James Bond franchise. There was a scene where professor R.J. Dent had a tarantula try to kill Bond, but the opposite happened. Bond did have it crawling on hom though. Good action & just a classic film to watch.
