I watched a really good film earlier, "Triple 9". I'd never heard of it before.

Amazing cast, that included:

Casey Affleck, Anthony Mackie, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Clifton Collins Jr., Woody Harrelson, Aaron Paul, Kate Winslet, Gal Gadot, Norman Reedus, and Teresa Palmer.

Plot:

A gang of criminals and corrupt cops plan the murder of a police officer in order to pull off their biggest heist yet across town.

ELI is a film I definitely recommend watching, it's on Netflix if you have it

It has a crazy twist at the end that I 100% did NOT see coming Reminiscent of DEVIL'S ADVOCATE

It definitely elevated the movie for me... Until that point, parts felt repetitive and I was furious with the boy's parents for acting so reserved about the horrible way he was being treated, but once the revelations start happening in the last 20 minutes or so, everything makes sense and it adds a whole new way of looking at the boy's experience throughout the film.

Bonus guest appearance of Sadie Sink (Max in Stranger Things) as the weird girl who shows up to have meaningful talks with the suffering boy throughout the movie. I was deeply suspicious of her character

Rating: 4/5 thanks to the twist. That last sequence is shocking and the most horrific part of the movie

It really elevated the movie for me. The movie felt so generic up until those final 15 minutes where everything is just chaotic and brilliant

honestly one of the most beautiful CGI-animated movies I’ve ever watched

Movie: The Santa Clause 2
Year Released: 2002
Plot:Scott Calvin (Tim Allen) has been in the role of Santa for the past eight years, and his loyal elves consider him the best one ever. But the world of the "Merry Old Soul" turns upside down when he's dealt a double whammy of news: Not only has his son, Charlie (Eric Lloyd), landed on this year's naughty list, but Scott discovers that he must marry by Christmas Eve -- just a month away! -- or he will stop being Santa Claus forever.
Rating out of 5 4
Comments: This was a well done sequel I think. There was a new Santa that was created & I'm pretty sure played as well by Tim Allen. So that Santa gulped down hot chocolate, which was funny. Molly Shannon sand a Christmas version of Shania Twain's ''Man! I Feel Like a Woman'' Later, the fake Santa made a bunch of giant toy soldiers that did what he told them to. It was almost something perhaps out of the Soviet Union. ''It's Christmas Eve. I have coal to deliver! I don't want those naughty kids to suffer!'' Also, Comet was snacking on candy.

The Turning-I read the book it’s based on years ago when I was in college...I think that helped. I actually really enjoyed it....not super scary but definitely a few jumpy moments. Finn Wolfhard was excellent! I would definitely recommend it!

Movie: I am Jane Doe

Year Released: 2017

Starring: Narrated by Jessica Chastain

Plot: This intense documentary follows real cases of American girls enslaved in the child sex trade through ads in a newspaper's online classified section.

Rating out of 5 stars: 2

Comments: This is such an important subject but I feel the film was lacking in many ways. It focused so much on the legalities of things and instead skipped almost entirely over the feelings and experiences of the poor girls enslaved in this brutal 'trade'. I would have liked to have heard more about them and how they are healing. The feel of the film was very clinical. It has a good message though.

Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka is something else

like how his backstory is told

adds depth to his character

I did watch this one in theaters

hard to believe it’s almost been 15 years
