The Village (2004)

When I first saw this movie back when it premiered, I thought it was dull. Now I'm older, I appreciate the story behind the major 3rd act revelations when the secrets of the village people are revealed... Their motivations behind how they change their lives to try and live more peacefully and put up creepy facades in the woods in order to stop people from leaving...

The idea has some rationality behind it that I can understand more now, and William Hurt's character as well as the other parents in the movie remind me of Ed Harris' character in THE TRUMAN SHOW. You do bad things with what you believe to be the best of intentions.

It's creepy, it's fascinating, and very well acted. An underrated gem by the very smart M Night Shyamalan.

I Love that film! Great choice for a watch.

Valentine (2001) Great horror flick with Katherine Heigl, Denise Richards, Marley Shelton, David Boreanaz and few others.

The Hatton Garden Job (2017) Based on true events. The story of criminals who stole 200 Million in Jewels from the famed England company, Hatton Garden. Stars Matthew Goode, Joely Richardson, Larry Lamb.

Definitely have come to appreciate it more now I'm older, it's more clever than people realize

It's ironic because I like THE VILLAGE more than I used to, and now I like VALENTINE a lot less than I used to I despise how Dorothy is framed at the end.

The first time I watched Valentine back in 2001, I didn't clue in a first that Dorothy was framed.

My heart breaks for her I'm guessing that she passed out drunk and Adam put the costume on her without her realizing? He's suddenly there at the top of the stairs after she falls down them. Way too suspicious

Agreed. The framing was so messed up. She got murdered and yet will always be known as an "attempted" murderer.

Also, I wonder if Jeremy ever killed Kate after the movie ended. He killed them all how they rejected him and Kate said "maybe later." So does Jeremy kill her later or leave her alive since she did get with him... but not before he had his surgery to make him look way different?

^^ I don’t think he did because he made her believe they were innocent yes? But it’s a great topic for different opinions! I would post the question in the Horror Flix thread!

I saw. You're welcome. It's nice when movies can make us think like that.
