Add me to the list please. I may not always get to join, but I'll do my best.
Just need to think of some Fantasy movies to watch.... not sure I've really watched many of them before. Edit: Looking up lists of fantasy movies, The Princess Bride counts as Fantasy/Drama so that may end up being my pick. I've got the perfect movie for Fantasy/Comedy but that's not one of the months sections. __________________

^^ Added you Ash, and I edited the final category for the month to be comedy instead of series!
So add TPB to your list! |

Red Riding Hood. Amanda is so good in that movie!
I may watch Mouse Hunt because I haven't seen it in a while but if I can get RRH somehow, I'd definitely watch it. __________________

I watched a few movies for this one as I loved too many to pick just one!
Plus my power was out again due to construction so planning for that to happen, I downloaded them to my iPad! Red Riding Hood - This was more interesting than I think people give it credit for. I really enjoyed the story and the cast was great with Amanda Seyfried, Shiloh Fernandez, Billy Burke and Gary Oldman. Pan's Labyrinth - This is one of my favourite foreign films ever from Guillermo Del Toro, fantastic film and great story! 12 Monkeys - Nothing like a great Bruce Willis flick but this is such a mind bender of a film and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Brad Pitt's role, though small is so memorable as well! The Prestige - Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman really bring life to this film in a way that is so unexpected. The twist is amazing as well and the first time I watched, I never saw it coming! The Wolfman - Love Anthony Hopkins and the supporting cast with Emily Blunt and Benicio Del Toro was brilliant casting. The story is intense and there's a twist you just don't really see coming that I loved. Plus Hugo Weaving as Abbeline was brilliant! Dracula Untold - New take on the Vlad the impaler story and Luke Evans and Sarah Gadon give great performances! |

I'm a little late with this I know Any way thanks for the new thread Millie and welcome to the thread, Ashley
Fantasy/Mystery - THE VILLAGE + What did you like best about the movie? Why? How the village was situated in such an isolated area, matching it to the period style clothing and I believed for the majority of the movie that they were in a different time zone. + What did you like least about the film? Why? The ending... I'm still questioning what I think of it An opening ending to leave you questioning whether they would keep living the lie, as it's somewhat easier than re-adjusting to the outside world. Good side - reminds me of THE TRUMAN SHOW (what's right and wrong). Bad side - the blind girl is now aware that the people on the outside are capable of being good, contrary to what she had always been taught. Moreover, staying in the woods means being away from medical supplies, which - as they have learned with Joaquin Phoenix's character - can be a bad thing. + Who was your favorite character in the movie? Why? Bryce Dallas Howard's, as she proved the dangerous lengths she would go to in order to save the person she loves. + Who was your least favorite character in the film? Why? The village people who tell William Hurt's character that he has done a bad thing by allowing his daughter to leave for medical supplies. + Comments: A truly thought-provoking film. Lots of people feel cheated by the lack of an actual supernatural threat in the woods, but I think the facade and the reveal that the villagers were behind the whole 'threat' was a truly insightful look into the concept of how far people will go in order to preserve their lives and/or start over from scratch. + What would you rate this movie out of 5 stars? __________________

Love that movie! Great review Gwen!
Any ideas for what to watch for Fantasy Action? I'm thinking like Man of Steel or Wonder Woman. |
