Do you think the movies were the best possible versions they could be?

Or did the books deserve better?

I never really knew what needed the most improvement - the performances or the writing.

I will never hate them the way some people claim to, but to be honest, I was never that fond of Kristen Stewart's acting as Bella.

I remember that she tried to justify it by saying that Bella was "shy" and against the norm, but I think Kristen took that too literally and never tried to be anything other than herself in the role.

It's weird, because I've some of The Vampire Diaries lately and Nina Dobrev sometimes played Elena in the same bland way. Especially in Seasons 3 and 4. (I never watched beyond that )

I know like I’m shy but once you really get to know me I talk a lot I don’t know I love Nina and I watched all seasons

Nina seemed to have a lot more fun playing Katherine than Elena

Also, she did this annoying thing as Elena where she pulled her hair back shyly behind her ears when she talked to Stefan and Damon, a shy trait that reminded me of Joey in Dawson's Creek

But I do think Kristen Stewart needed to improve her acting as Bella. Especially when you're playing one half of an epic novel romance and you need viewers to believe that you're really in love with a vampire.

Another thing they should done to make the movies better -- stopped focusing on shirtless Taylor Lautner. It was beyond disturbing how the fandom got into that.

I think he was still a teenager when NEW MOON came out, so it really grossed me out how the marketing kept focusing on him shirtless.

Also, it took so much away from Edward and Bella's love story. Everyone kept making memes about him

I think so but most teen girls and even our age wanted him like eww. Why do that too much shirtless

That's when the fandom got way too embarrassing for my liking

Nobody even talked about it being a love story anymore. Everyone was suddenly talking about it like it was a cliche teen triangle. Hated that.

NEW MOON was supposed to be the ROMEO & JULIET section of the series, yet all we saw in promotion were shirtless/short-haired Jacob. From that point on, I started to dislike the series, sadly.

I'll always love the first and last books/movies, though.
