Mrs. Doubtfire (1994) #1: We're melting like a snowcone in Phoenix.

I don't know what happened to our previous thread, so I'm starting another one. Post away!

I love this movie...so sweet, and yet so funny! The quote from the title is definitely one of the best in the movie. I love the look on Pierce Brosnan's face when he turns around after getting nailed in the back of the head by a lime.

I for one really loved this movie. Even now, being 18 I love the comedy and warmth Williams brings to it. I first saw this movie when it came out in (im not sure of the year) but im positive I was about 10 or under. I loved it then and I love it now.

One of my favourite parts is when "Mrs Doubtfire" is walking across the street and the mugger tries to take her back and breaks it. "Broke my bag, the bastard"

I love all of the scenes that were already mentioned.

I also saw it when I was under 10 and loved it, but of course I can appreciate the movie more now as I get so many jokes that I never got when I was 9.

One of my favorite quotes: It's my first day as a woman and I'm getting hot flashes

I know this'll probably sound a lil crazy but did anyone else want Mrs Doubtfire to be real?

No, it doesn't sound crazy at all. I think a lot of people felt that way, including myself. Robin Williams made that character so real that when he was "revelealed" at the end of the movie, it was like she died or something. Even Matthew Lawrence said that when Robin was playing Mrs. Doubtfire, he was really her.

This movie's sooo funny! Some parts of it are a little inappropriate for young children, though you don't really need to understand all the jokes you really enjoy it.

Yeah, I definitely agree. I loved it as a kid and didn't get nearly half the jokes, .

My mom and I both agree that this is one of the few movies that is worth watching more than once. She bought it when it first came out on video and our copy is so warped now, we seriously need to get another.
I love the scene where the youngest goes "she smells funny" about her grandma and Robin Williams goes "it's the formaldahyde. it's what keeps granny so well preserved". Once I saw it dubbed over in german and they pronounce it for-mal-duh-hee-deh. That line is a million times funnier when said in german.

I love that line! Robin Williams is a comic genius! He ad-libbed a lot of the movie and it wouldn't have been the same without his creative mind

So true. So very true. Another of my favourite parts is when he's telling the tv guys that their promoting smoking to young children. And he imitates Porky Pig.

"In the words of Porky Pig; A p-p a-pp Piss-off, Lou".

OMG! and how is it when his brother is talking on the phone to their mum.

"She wants to know if you wanna stay with her"
"No...no!"

Those scenes were hilarious!

I also love when they're at Bridge's and Mrs. Doubtfire says that she has to go take her medicine and Miranda says that there's water at the table and he/she says "Oh, I don't take it orally, dear", . That was great! And I only noticed that line within the last few years.

"I dont take it orally, dear" - LMFAO! I wonder if the writers put that in or if Robin put it in himself.

DCreekFreak, is that poster in Italian?

I think Robin actually put that in himself. I could be wrong though, so don't quote me.

You know, I'm not sure. I just found it on Google.

Luurrve the title -- one of my fave quotes.

I just have to say that I love this movie. I grew up on it, and Robin is a friggin' genius. But it's so true that I didn't get a lot of the jokes when I was younger, as per usual with all my childhood flicks. The formaldahyde line is precious though, so funny. My favorite part of the movie, by far, was the part when he was trying on all his faces with Uncle Frank and Aunt Jack...

"Don't tell me howta live just sit and puttah -- life's candy and the sun's a ball o' buttah -- don't bring around a cloud to rain on my paraaaaaade!"

There is the slue of others as well:

"DWF seeks DWM with BMW into light B&D." *snerk*

"Carpe dentum. Seize the teeth."

"Now see Nattie -- that's called liposuction."

And of course, this part is golden:

["Vell, I do voices.

Yes!

We've come to this planet looking for intelligent life. Oops, we made a mistake.

Happy to be in America, don't ask for a green card.

And I want you in the worst way.

Well, it's a silently rough meeting and it's not going very well for me, I'll tell you that. Hey boss, give it a chance, she's gonna loosen up any moment.

Look at me right now, moneypenney. I want to undo that bow and get to know you.

I'm crazy to make a deal with-you!

Nancy and I are still looking for the other half of my head.

This is it. I'm doing it. I'm sitting on a goldmine.

Don't make me smack you, sweetheart. Or I'll do it.

Figaro!

I do a great impression of a hotdog."]

Love his/her ( ) interactions with Stu:

Mrs. Doubtfire: "I hope you're up for a little competition.

Stuart: "I beg your pardon?"

Mrs. Doubtfire: "She's got a power tool in the bedroom, dear. It's her personal jackhamer. She could break sidewalk with that thing. She uses it, and the lights dim. Like a prison movie. Amazing she hasn't chipped her teeth."

Wow...so glad this thread exists!
