I don't know why some were saying it was just bland, it was a great start and I loved that a year had passed since the initial events, so it fits a better timeline and we can have flashbacks of things that transpired.

So season 2 of Mr. Mercedes is shaping up nicely. I quite like the flow the show has taken so far.

watching Ready Player One for the first time a couple of days ago has renewed my interest in The Shining which I have not seen in full in 5 years with my friends which was the only time I have ever watched it
but man that movie still terrifies me to no end |

I don't find it scary, I don't get what is so scary about it, it's not like something is jumping out at you like in IT, is it the psychological aspect that is scary for you?

well you know, there's jump-scares in it, when the dead girls appear and they keep switching to them lying on the ground and there's blood everywhere, then they're standing again so that part is pretty triggering. also the soundtrack and when Danny talks in that whiny voice, there's just so many things

I can see the music being scary but I guess I just don't get scared easily!

it's definitely more of a psychological horror film than anything else I guess the terror part for me comes mostly from the feeling of being trapped and not being able to escape (both literally in the hotel with the snow and figuratively with the mind) Quote:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3t60...nFt8Uh7HgCoAEC I like ghost movies but I prefer The Sixth Sense to The Shining so much more (as in what movie I would want to re-watch) Quote:

I love the 'being scared' idea but I don't really get scared, but that could be because I tell myself, 'you know something's going to pop out!'.

I forgot to add the part about Danny saying REDRUM repeatedly which I found unsettling

^ I know, it was so creepy
the book didn't scare me as much but there were lots of changes in the 1980 movie and I thought that version was a lot more scary __________________
