Always Be My Maybe on Netflix was pretty good. I liked both of the leads and they had good chemistry.

I haven't seen this one but I've heard it's pretty good. It's in queue.

The Fault in Our Stars

You've got a trip to Amsterdam, two vibrant personalities and defying death's odds to be together.

Amazing love story.

I usually post in here about romantic movies I liked, but I'm doing the opposite today. Really didn't like Crazy Rich Asians The whole story of the central couple felt so cliche. It was like The Notebook in reverse (boy meets girl, rich mother has an issue with their child either marrying out of the faith, culture or same financial bracket and attempts to destroy relationship). I didn't feel any attachment to any of the characters and the ending (Rachel claiming she'll leave on her own journey then he chases after her) was so predictable. I don't understand all the hype and don't plan to watch it again

The chemistry between Shailene and Ansel was beautiful and they had so much better material to act out together than they ever did in the Divergent series.

I just finished watching Isn’t It Romantic? and it was more fun than I thought it would be

it reminded me of 13 Going on 30

Rebel Wilson was great in this movie with her comedic timing and I enjoyed seeing her and Adam DeVine together again in another movie

didn’t care for Liam Hemsworth or his character though lol

One of the best romantic films / book adaptations imo is One Day

That line from Emma: "I love you, Dexter. I just don't like you anymore"

I prefer those type of movies (like 500 Days of Summer) which don't portray romance as something perfect and all hearts & flowers.

Emma and Dexter's friendship endures years of trials and tribulations, and it does con you into thinking that they might never get together... Then when they do,

And that's the type of movie that succeeds. The realism of things not always working out, but knowing that key things happened along the way which changed (Dexter) as a person.

it’s interesting that you say that b/c the movie that I watched last night was kinda mocking/making fun of that

It's why I didn't like Crazy Rich Asians The main couple were just so sappy and the ending scene felt like it was trying so hard to be The Wedding Singer

(Tracking someone down to confess your love on a plane with everyone around you swooning? Total wish fulfillment)

finally watched Always Be My Maybe earlier today and it was a cute sweet movie

could find it really relatable being Asian American and a native San Franciscan (it’s cool to see places from your hometown )

The Best of Me is a film that I found surprisingly good (for a Nicholas Sparks story)

Too bad the ending is cliche and awful. The duo who played the younger version of the main couple had incredible chemistry

My dad usually hates sappy romance movies, but even he liked this one, because it goes deep into the sad life the main guy leads as the outcast not just in society but also in his family

^ This is such a fitting tweet for this thread, the leading man looks brooding and/or determined in the rain romantic trope for cinema

The first pic is a new still of Adam Driver from the trailer for 'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker'

Movie scenes in the rain can be so sensual and intense.
