Princess Anne! love this film, Audrey totally owned this movie, and much deservedly the Oscar in her first feature film role. beautiful film, they don't make them like this one anymore. Roman Holiday was the first film made entirely outside the USA, by the studio system, and inspired generations of directors and actors to embrace the locations, people, and scenery of the world, as part of US films. film history has been very enriched by embracing the world.

Agreed, what a wonderful movie and it is indeed sad that they don't make such movies anymore

the film is absolutely mesmerizing in black and white, and so tonally correct in it's shades and shadows, but should they ever make a colorized version? would a colorized version take away from the aura of post-WW2 Europe and Rome in particular? i much prefer the b/w of course, but a color version would be an interesting look. same for Sabrina.

i would love to see a blu-ray conversion of RH and Sabrina, much the same as they did on the amazing blu-ray restoration/transfer of Breakfast At Tiffanys.

You're absolutely right. Maybe it won't be the same if they make a colored edition, I mean B&W is so classy Just perfect for that movie. I haven't seen Sabrina yet

I need to get that B@T blue-ray edition!

the gifs are awesome, thanks for them. Anne is so cute and sassy as the girl on the run having fun, yet so regal and elegant as the Princess. wow. love Audrey!

agreed, i also thought she should have won the Oscar for Holly Golightly in BAT, and also for Sister Luke in The Nun's Story, in 1959. both were academy nominations for her, and i still feel she was robbed when looking at the choices of both 1959 and 1961. i liked her Charade and How to Steal A Million caper films a lot too.

i'm still trying to find dvd copies of 1952 Monte Carlo Baby and 1957 Green Mansions. they're hard to find outside of the pricey ebay pirates.

Agreed, those roles were fabulous! I'd give her all the Oscars tbh I cannot believe she wasn't nominated for My Fair Lady
