The book is written by Christopher Priest.
I'm thinking Nolan will stay pretty faithful to his story and make this one a winner. __________________

Only thing is the book went out of print some years ago. So finding it in a bookstore or even a library may not be an easy task.
But it is a great book. |

I'd love to read it as well.
I went to see The Illusionist tonight and the trailer for The Prestige was attached. Gah. It looks so brilliant. __________________

Gah, I figured the trailer would be attached to The Illusionist! Man, I wanna see The Illusionist as well, but no one here does.
Oh well. I already have the trailer for The Prestige on my laptop, so I can watch it whenever I suppose. |

Can't wait to see this -- great plot idea and steller cast. Love Hugh Jackman, Caine and Christian Bale -- can't wait to see how they all interact together. And David Bowie?!?! Will definitely be there.

Just got back from the movie... and it was pretty awesome.
It's definitely in the top five I've seen this year. I've enjoyed Christopher Nolan's work starting with Memento, but I'm also becoming a fan of Bale. Jackman and Bale give solid performances, but Caine shines just as bright. Oh, and compared to The Black Dahlia, Johannson is a lot more tolerable here. A- |

Man, what a great movie. I'd probably have enjoyed it more had I not read the book, since the major twists were intact for the movie. Like I already knew Borden's secret beforehand figured out exactly how that was used about halfway into the film or so. Meh, oh well. Still a great movie. Christian and Hugh did such a great job.
I was amused by how much people were talking about the movie even after the credits finished. During the movie, some people were like 'What the hell is going on?! Huh?' especially toward the end. But once it was all over and everything was revealed, people were still talking about it. Quite a large crowd too. I'll be seeing it again sometime in the coming weeks, since one of the girls in my hall wants to go but couldn't come with the group I gathered today. Sweet. |

I just saw it and thought it was good! I saw the Illusionist a while back, and while I know some people are going to compare the two, I really feel they are completely different movies, but well done and worth seeing! I think Christian is wonderful in anything and he is here as well. I always Like jackman and Caine as well. Scarlett I can take or leave and this is no exception!
I found the first twenty minutes a little confusing as they changed between the present and past, but once I got a handle on that, it turned into a great movie. I would be very interested to read the book...maybe it might give me a few more answers I need... for those that read the book...was it good?? __________________
