Hope everyone's having a good Friday

So, as an avid Buffy/Angel fan since they aired, all the recently-publicized scandal in the media about Joss Whedon's BTS behavior towards its actors has been quite distressing (even though I've known about how badly he treated Charisma Carpenter for years, as Cordy's Angel season 4 arc was plain and simple character destruction based on her real-life pregnancy) but it is nice to see former cast members be so supportive of each other.

Case in point, this nice little Eliza/Charisma interaction

Also, I'm not one of those people who will suddenly abandon a show I've loved for years just because of accusations. Separate the art from the real stuff. (Angel season 4 and 5 were NOT part of that art)

Have been reading Blood Brothers during lockdown because someone I know is studying it for class... Very underrated story about brotherhood, social class division and tragic (romantic) love. Surprised it hasn't had more adaptations to be honest, though it was written specifically for the stage

Yeah I'd recommend Blood Brothers. A play from the 80's I think? Tragic ending, twins die, they love the same girl cliche but it's interesting nonetheless

Haha I know like they do self service here to borrow the books or DVD still have to go inside though to get them but now a days we have QE codes you just have to scan it with your phone before entering anywhere and it’s mandatory

I used to hate having to use my phone for codes, particularly in GAME where for some reason it never worked when they scanned mine

Nope, not in a library! I used to love being a kid and going to the desk, getting books stamped and having a chat with the local librarian.

Now, a bunch of people work there who I don't know, who have easy jobs because they're not expected to do much anymore

the people who only check out the items are assistants though so that’s all they do

but I do remember my childhood librarian who’s not there anymore

when the line’s long though and I’m in a hurry to go somewhere I do appreciate self-service
