Here are two brilliant and beautiful italian films centering around gay characters:
La Finestra Di Fronte and La Fata Ignoranta Quick comments on some of the other films listed: Boy's Don't Cry - excellent film - can be emotionally difficult to watch. Desert Hearts - it was ok. Not a very interesting story though. Heavenly Creatures - brilliantly directed, a wonderful film. Not a happy ending but it's a true story. High Art - also not a great film but enjoyable yet sad. Kissing Jessica Stein - i have never wanted to burn a copy of a movie before - this one i did! Mulholland Drive - typical lynch but I love him. Oranges Are Not The Only Fruit - I vaguely remember the movie , loved the book. Fire - great film! Better Than Chocolate - fun movie with a happy ending Manhattan - okay, so not really a gay/lesbian genre movie but it's worth a littlw mention anyway! Aimee and Jaguar - must see german film __________________

These are from "Lieb Mich". I really like this movie even though I only saw it in French and German which are both not my mother languages. women love women I forgot if I saw this one or not.
