Love the idea of Scarface for that one. A few other suggestions we can debate on:

Donnie Brasco
The Life of David Gale
Murder on the Orient Express (2017)
A Time to Kill

For thriller:
The Hand that Rocks the Cradle
Mary Reilly
Panic Room
The Talented Mr. Ripley

Also, please feel free to make more suggestions!

I’m open to watching most anything and will likely watch a few of each to be honest!

Yep, I'd be totally up for Donnie Brasco or Scarface

Haven't seen Talented Mr Ripley in AGES. Would love to do a Re-watch of that. I remember loving Jude and Gwyneth in that film.

^^^ It's one of my favourites!

Just to add, people who movie watch and want to join in and not necessarily want to watch the consensus movie can pick any other film in that genre to join in anyway!

Anytime on the weekend that you can watch and post any comments or answer any of the questions from the OP.

I'm planning to watch Sunday afternoon.

Planned re-watches/watches don't have to happen at the same hour, but within the same 24 to 48 hour period I think is best. More flexible for people.

^^ We're just planning on 28 Days Later randomly because we love it but we can make it a late addition and just watch and post for fun!

Any movie idea's picks for Drama/Thriller or Drama/Crime?

We have great suggestions from Gwen for "Crime" in "Scarface" and "Carlito's Way".

+ If you were writing the screenplay for this movie, would you have changed the ending? Explain your answer.

Great review Rita! Was it a first time watch for you?

I thought the same things when I first watched it was you pointed out in the discussion questions but thoughts have changed on some things.

For example:

Re-Watch
+ Did you learn anything from this movie? If you did, what was it?

Fame/Money can and will change you, especially when your goal all along was to upstage or outdo your wife's parents!

+ What is the message of this movie? Do you agree or disagree with it?

The main message is to appreciate everyone around you as they either help or hinder you to garner your own successes.

+ Was there something you didn't understand about the film? What was that?

Why he became a douche to the people he was banking from.

+ What did you like best about the movie? Why?

The songs, performances.

+ What did you like least about the film? Why?

The changes in Barnum and his attitude towards the so called 'freaks'.

+ Who was your favorite character in the movie? Why?

Barnum, because even though he had his flaws and became a douche for lack of a better term, he did go back and become who we expected him to be in the end.

+ Who was your least favorite character in the film? Why?

The reporter who made it a point to insult Barnum to his face.

+ Did anything that happened in this movie remind you of something that has occurred in your own life or that you have seen occur to others?

The simple fact of exclusion because of your status/looks etc. Too relevant no matter the year or generation.

+ What were you thinking as you finished watching the film?

The second time round, glad it was over. I was so stuck on Barnum's douchiness this time round that it irritated me.

+ What part of the story told by the movie was the most powerful? Why?

The fire. Simple. You had it all and then it was gone, and look at the people you stepped on to get there.

+ If you had a chance to ask a character in this movie a question, what would it be?

The 'freaks', I would ask them what they would have done differently to help Barnum see his change for the worse.

+ If you had a chance to ask the screenwriter a question, what would it be?

How much of the story is truth compared to additions for entertainment purposes.

+ If you were writing the screenplay for this movie, would you have changed the ending? Explain your answer.

No, because it's based on truth, so the outcome was already laid out.

+ What feelings did you share with any of the characters in the movie?

I could relate to the exclusion portions when it came to the labeled, 'freaks'. Always been pushed out of things as a kid or bullied so it's relatable.

+ Did any of the characters in this movie make you angry? Tell us why.

Barnum, when he changed and his greed took over.

+ Did you come to respect any of the characters in this movie? Who was it and why did you come to respect that character?

I was angry with Barnum but in the end respected him for changing and realizing his mistakes.

+ What would you rate this movie out of 5 stars?

Started 28 Days Later:

First notes:

The opening scenes and the music mesh so well. Also, the difference with the use of nudity compared to US films. It's not thrust in your face when Cillian's character wakes in hospital and he's nude. It's just as natural if he were wearing clothing.

The initial desolation and discovery that he's alone until the small convenience store and Naomi Harris!

Discovering his parents.
