On the topic of friendship, I'd say the scenes between Julianne and George in MY BEST FRIEND'S WEDDING saved her character from being a total mess. The fact that the movie ends on this note rather than her wallowing in misery over Michael choosing Kimmy was a very good idea

lol Yeah, Crossroads wasn't a good movie and Britney Spears can't act. Glad she didn't try to do more movies.

That is one of those movies that people stan as a teenager because everyone told it was the coolest thing to be her fan.

I might do a re-watch of it today if I have time. I'm curious to revisit all those cringe-inducing sappy scenes I remember.

Oh gosh I saw a preview clip on YT yesterday and her character is basically a Regina George clone at the start knocking over Britney and humiliating her in the hallway.

Then of course it ends all sappy with the 3 of them reuniting even though they barely have anything in common

Gonna try and do a rewatch tonight. Didn't have the time yesterday because of this lockdown craziness


P.S. I'm watching a Charlie Chaplin documentary and the on-screen relationship between him and the boy in THE KID is still one of the most tender things I've ever seen on screen. Especially when you hear about Chaplin's childhood and the boy in that film is basically who Charlie was as a kid.

Watching Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and Dobby's concern for Harry really sets up his position in the franchise as a Guardian Angel figure to him.

He's not in the movies very much, but when he is, you really feel that bond between them.

Becca really pays a terrible price for sleeping over at her house but the actresses had great chemistry with each other in that opening scene. They felt like lifelong friends.
