Leap Year (2010) #1 - "Kiss the girl..."
Fan Thread for the movie Leap Year opening January 8th, 2010 starring Amy Adams & Matthew Goode.
 Following an Irish tradition in which a man must say yes if proposed to on a leap day, a woman travels to Dublin to propose to her boyfriend. Anyone else excited to see this movie? I can't wait.  |

I watched this movie several years ago and I decided to watch it again. I can't believe there are so many reviewers saying that it was very cliche and predictable. I mean, aside of the gender of the film, what makes the end "predictable", I think of this movie as an original one.
I appreciated so much the chemistry between Matthew and Amy, and also how the story per se is romantic while both characters didn't share their own feelings and they weren't involved romantically (aside of the scene where they have to hide that they are not married). Maybe the moviegoers from present-day don't get how these movies work. I watched several romantic comedies and definitely this was the only one I enjoyed the most. __________________

most romantic comedies are predictable, though. Almost always does the main character get the love interest they were pining for and is almost always a happy ending. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that.
