PLOT
The three Bondurant brothers run a bootlegging operation during the depression, up in the mountains of Franklin County, Virginia. Crooked Special Deputy Charles Rakes is after a share of the brothers' profits. Compounding their troubles, the local competition is elbowing in on their activities. Forrest's boisterous defiance and Cricket's knack for moonshine production help the brothers gain a local monopoly. When Forrest is wounded as tension with Rakes escalates, Jack, initially the timid one, must prove his worth against gangster Floyd Banner's mob, and we see him metamorphose into a cocky exhibitionist in his attempts to woo the off-limits preacher's daughter, Bertha.

i do. for some reason, i seem to be drawn to crime dramas. plus, i love tom hardy and anytime i can see him on screen, i'm there. just not sure i'll be able to catch this week when it releases. i definitely want to check it out.

I loved this! It wasn't a cheery movie that's for sure. But I had a lot of fun with the performances and spooky atmosphere. To me it seemed as if the movie didn't know quite how to end, but it was still a decent conclusion. The soundtrack was haunting and gorgeous.

Liked this one a lot.

i hope to check it out really soon.

This movie was amazing. I watched it last week. I adore Maggie and Forrest's relationship. Made a thread for them on the couples board.

Tom Hardy's grunts are the best :lol:
Jessica is so pretty as Maggie.

I loved when she walked in the room, he realises she's naked, and he's all "Uh... Uh... What you doin'?" :lol: He recover shortly after. Jessica owned that scene.
