I saw this movie in previews when it was released in Australia back in September last year.

Toni Collette was brilliant as the lead as was the movie especially the twist, which when it happened left the audience shaking.

Okay, can you explain to me what exactly happened and how she knew what he was doing was a mistake? I can only think of the obvious.

I heart your av by the way.

Thanks re: Av - thank the avatar thread

In Australia it is a big no no to dive into a waterhole / lake when you can't see the bottom.

(Sandy) Toni's character was correct to go in by walking in from the bank, instead when Tachi (Gotaro) dived in she feared the worst which turned out to be the worst because he had broken his neck on the impact of the dive.

I hope that makes sense.

Also you might want to put major spoilers in the subject header since this post included them <g>

I stumbled on this gem of film quite by accident. It was far more entertaining than I thought it would be with outstanding performances by Toni Collette and Otaro Tsunashima with a surprise twist I never saw coming.

Loved it. Japanese Story (2003)
