Just like the premise of the movie it is similar to famous Japanese movie Battle Royal which you could only get a anime conventions now being released on Blue ray DVD Teens forced to enter a game on TV winner is only last person standing kill or be killed .plus it is a lot more violent and graphic .
Bought my Ticket on line last night for Sunday 1215 I MAX showing . Sadly not at the giant I max theater near me Deadlinehollywood.com FRIDAY 4:10 PM, 4TH UPDATE… EXCLUSIVE: My movie studio sources are telling me that the Friday gargantuan opening box office for Lionsgate’s The Hunger Games is ranging from a low of $60M to a high of $75M today from 4,137 North American theaters. That number includes the record-setting $19.75M midnight grosses. For the 3-day weekend overall domestic blockbuster number, my insiders are predicting a low of $135M to a high near $150M. This is a huge bonanza for the studio and not much less than its motion picture revenue for recent quarters. Meanwhile Lionsgate sources are telling me that the hotly anticipated pic did a matinee per-screen average of $7,800. Now that number is rising past $9,900 at this hour. That’s better than The Dark Knight ($9,806) and Twilight Saga’s Breaking Down Part One ($9,310) but not Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part Two ($11,300) and Twilight Saga’s New Moon ($12,600).
HUNGER GAMES looks to break into top 3 all time opening weekends as of this weekend Come new Batman, Avengers Twilight final movie in November sure records will be broken Edit Update 1215 pm EST Satuday __________________

What are your'e thoughts on the movie ? Sure one of the Mods will add you to the list
Weekend Report: 'The Hunger Games' Devours $152.5 Million by Ray Subers Boxofficemjo.com March 25, 2012 The odds were definitely in The Hunger Games favor this weekend: the big screen adaptation of the immensely popular young adult novel opened to an enormous $152.5 million, which ranks third all-time behind Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 ($169.2 million) and The Dark Knight ($158.4 million). Remarkably, it debuted above all of the Twilight movies, and it also topped Alice in Wonderland ($116.1 million) for highest debut ever for a non-sequel. Made another 10.8 million on Monday box office . So far Worldwide it has earned over 222 million . This movie easily could break recored as far as when it closes in 3 months of perhaps close to billion dollars __________________

I loved the movie. It got me to read the books, which I hadn't done yet and I'm on the second one now. I thought their choices in the movie were very faithful and I thought it had good additions where those were made.
I've read some really big names being thrown around for Catching Fire including my choice the director of the third harry potter movie. He has done dystopia before in the movie Children of Men and he's worked with large ensemble cats in harry potter. I think he would be a good fit. __________________

I loved the movie too! The book was really brought to life brilliantly. But speaking of cast members, Peeta Mellark, better known as Josh Hutcherson is starring in the new movie DETENTION now in theaters! Let's go support him!

I really didn't think this was a very good adaptation. The film isn't dark enough for the bleak world inwhich these characters from District 12 live. They're meant to be barely surviving, yet Katniss looks pretty healthy to me. When she arrives in the Capitol the beauticians are meant to have their work cut out for them to make Katniss presentable, yet really she looked perfectly fine. The least they could have done was not wax JL's eyebrows whilst she was filming the District 12 scenes.
I think overall the film really could have done with a Katniss narrative. Throughout the book you really get a sense of the world because of her thoughts, but you don't get to have that in the film. The friendship between Katniss and Rue was severely lacking. When she died in the book you really felt for the character and Katniss's reaction, but in the film the development between them just wasn't there. Overall they really could have made a great film, but it falls short for me. __________________

I didn't like Gary Ross' take on the film. I Liked the film but It would have been better if they had a director like Christopher Nolan at the helm.

Finally saw final The Hunger Games:Mockingjay - Part 2 , movie today . Good but sad . Notthat it is ending but seeing Phillip Seymore hoffman on screen . This wasnt his last movie before before his death . I am curuios near the end after Katness had donewhat she knew she had to do .Haymithc (woody Harrelson) comes to se Katness , she is locked up under guard in a house in the Capitol he reads a letter from Plutarch Heavensbee (hoffman ) says he cant be there in person . I know when he passed away the producers said most of his filming had been finished.

It's sad seeing Hoffman on the screen while he has passed away...
