Plot Summary: Based on the popular DC Super Hero "Green Lantern" stars Ryan Reynolds in the title role as the newest member of the Green Lantern Corps. EW provides a behind-the-scenes look at the making of next summer’s highly anticipated superhero movie Green Lantern. Ryan Reynolds stars as Hal Jordan, a cocky test pilot who becomes a ring-wearing intergalactic superhero in this massive sci-fi epic from director Martin Campbell (Casino Royale).

Though Reynolds has prior experience in the superhero realm from his role as Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, playing Green Lantern involved some major challenges, like getting hurled through the air on a wire at up to 60 feet per second to create the illusion of flight. “The first time you do it, you’re seriously considering an adult diaper,” Reynolds says.

Still, he couldn’t resist the chance to play the beloved DC Comics hero, whose power ring can conjure virtually anything he can dream up. “Will and imagination are his superpowers,” Reynolds says. “We need a circus of Timothy Learys to think of things Hal would invent with his ring.”

Breaking news Ryan Reynolds separated his shoulder on set doing stunt .

Ryan Reynolds was injured Monday on the New Orleans set of The Green Lantern, UsMagazine.com has learned.

While shooting scenes for the DC Comics action flick, the 33-year-old actor - who plays the title character - separated his shoulder and "is in lots of pain," an insider tells Us. "He's been keeping ice on it."

I really hope this movie turns out good - my boyfriend has been a fan of the comics for a very long time. I've recently had my favourite cartoon turned to a live action movie, and it turned out really, really bad (like, "8% rating on Rotten Tomatos" bad!), and that was really quite... heartbreaking, actually.

Still looks a little disappointing (why did they have to do the costume 100% computer generated?!). Would have loved to see a Dark Knight type feel to this movie, but still, it's GL so fans can't be THAT disappointed.

Not to mention I think Ryan Reynolds is a perfect match for the role.

Seems as if this movie will one of the frost so called Superhero blockbusters to go broke . According to box office mojo.com It cost 200 million to make and advertise the movie . After 10 days 99% of the superhero movies would already be way over 100 million .

Ryan Reynolds is very popular actor and is wanted for other roles like this .

I saw it, as I see every superhero movie and buy the special DVD's. it lacked a main plot it seemed bogged down at times . Should have been more to the story . Reminds of the first Hulk movie no villain to fight .

all this special effects to show other from the Lantern core seemed a waste when they were not used very much .

This movie was meant as an intro to Hal Jordan & there is already a planned sequel to it, so those numbers don't worry me as much.
