First Movie You Ever Saw/Remember Watching

I have a clear snapshot of being in the theater for Tim Burton's Batman. My grandfather organized a movie get together for a bunch of our cousins we'd never met. I was probably the youngest at around 6-years-old. For some reason, that one snapshot is very clear on my mind. I remember the screen, HUGE and exciting, and somebody handing me a coke. Hee.

I know that wasn't the first movie I ever saw (my aunt took me to another one earlier than that, don't know which), but it's my first memory of any movie.

Fun!

I remember seeing The Land Before Time when I was little. I also can remember seeing a bunch of Disney movies (mainly The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast).

I mainly remember seeing Beauty and the Beast because I choked on some popcorn at the very beginning of the movie and now I will never eat popcorn again!

The Little Mermaid. 1989! I was like 3 or something. We got the VHS when it came out and I watched it every day afterward for at least ten years. I still know all the songs

I remember seeing Grease and Dirty Dancing as a child and all the sexual stuff just went over my head (The abortion situation in DD, Grease Lightening). Watching it now--I'm always like, "Mom! How could you let me watch this!!"

I remember seeing a lot of movies when I was little, the one that I remember the most out of all of them was Wizards of Oz.

I was head over heels in love with that movie. I remember every song, every dance number, every cue, every line. I started wearing these red shoes my cousin from arizona gave me because they were too small for her. I would wear them everywhere. They were my own rubby slippers.

Wizard of Oz was the reason I started to love movies all together.

Good stuff, guys!

I remember The Little Mermaid and I had an obsession with Alice in Wonderland. I'd watch it every day. I remember so well trying to work the VHS by myself just to see it. Hee.

Me too about watching movies I didn't even realize were all kinds of wrong for a kid. Haha.

kikkokalabud - Wow, HP. I feel old now!

Ha, I thought the same thing about feeling so old!!

I rewatched Alice in Wonderland a few months back---what a freak show of a movie! It's just the weirdest movie....I can't wait for the Tim Burton version.

Haha, yeah. I was like what? Damn, where did time go?

Hee. It was a strange movie (at least the cartoon version I was obsessed with); I can't wait to see what Tim Burton did with it!

The first movie I remember going to the theater to see was Milo and Otis. It was with my cousins and we totally lost interest in it towards the end.

I watched a lot of movies at home but Milo and Otis is the one movie I can clearly remember watching to this day.
