The Fighter (2010) #1

Very surprised nobody started a thread. I just saw this movie and it is on the media list of possible Oscar contention .

The Fighter is the inspirational, true story of these two brothers who, against all the odds, come together to train for a historic title bout that will unite their fractured family, redeem their pasts and, at last, give their hard-luck town what it’s been waiting for: pride.

The story unfolds on the gritty, blue-collar streets of Lowell, Mass, where Dicky was once known as “The Pride of Lowell” having gone the distance with the world champion Sugar Ray Leonard. However, after losing that fight, like the town of Lowell, Dicky’s fallen on hard times. Mickey is trying to get of the shadows of his demanding family and make it in boxing.

Very moving movie how two brothers from a working class town in Massachusetts ,both fighters one ,Bale as stated into drugs glory he had gone ,Wahlburg, now trying to make name for himself .

Director: David O. Russell Rated R for violence and language
Writers: Scott Silver (screenplay), Paul Tamasy (screenplay),
Stars: Mark Wahlberg, Christian Bale and Amy Adams and Melissa Leo

Box Office totals as of Thursday 12/30/10 Total Lifetime Grosses
Domestic: $36,389,000 Credit Box Office Mojo.com

I saw this yesterday and really liked it. I thought that Melissa Leo and Christian Bale were fantastic and I'm hoping that they receive some Oscar nominations for their parts. I also enjoyed Amy Adams a lot in it as well. As for Mark, he's a good actor and I like him a lot, but after seeing this movie, I finally noticed that he acts the same in basically every movie.

I saw the movie on Christmas day and I felt the same way about the acting. I thought Melissa and Christian were the best ones.

I saw it yesterday and I have to admit: a very good movie. Christian Bale was amazing. Now I'm not surprised the film received so many nominations.

This movie was great! I really enjoyed Christian Bale's acting, Amy did pretty good too! Which one is Melissa, Christina?

I agree with others comments about Mark... but he's easy on the eyes!

Hey Tina, Melissa played Alice Ward who was Christian Bale and Mark Wahlberg's characters' mum. She had short blonde hair. Hope that helps
