Fight Club (1999) #1

Fight Club (1999)

This is quite possibly my favorite movie ever, and I was surprised that there wasn't a thread for it. (I'm also definitely not used to opening threads and am therefore open to any suggestions as to how to improve this.)

ROCKSTAR 10-14-2007 09:07 PM

Ahh, Fight Club how I love thee. :sigh:

Thanks for this. As for the opening post, you can post a few pictures and the movie synopsis.

There have been Fight Club threads before, they just vanish after a while.

Bella Grint 10-16-2007 06:04 PM

oh I love this movie!

ROCKSTAR 10-29-2007 12:00 AM

Me too!

When I first watched it I thought it was the weirdest movie ever made. But I still loved it.

Mavericks 10-29-2007 03:20 AM

NEVER TALK ABOUT FIGHT CLUB!

I love it! Ordinary people and the modern-day consumer society. I like the style and Edward Norton :D It is a movie that I still think about even after I've watched it.

Here's an article about Fight Club and Calvin and Hobbes

Bella Grint 10-29-2007 07:49 PM

Ed Norton is..*swoons*

I just saw this movie this past winter so everyone I know had seen it and I was spoiled on the ending but it was still amazing.

I love it! I'm not usually attracted to Brad Pitt, but he was pretty hot in this movie, as was Edward Norton. And using Pixies for the ending scene was AWESOME.

oscarjunk25 10-30-2007 03:16 PM

great movie

ROCKSTAR 03-02-2008 07:58 PM

Bella How cool you still enjoyed it even though you knew the ending. Knowing the ending actually enhances a lot of the scenes, it's a trip to see it from Marla's perspective.

Brad Pitt was awesome in this. He had a perfect tone for the type of character that Tyler was.

Mavericks I'm about to read that article you posted. Thanks for sharing!

Bella Grint 03-02-2008 11:38 PM

Haha yeah I love how it appears from Marla's POV

Sugarfixx 09-05-2008 07:52 PM

This is my favorite movie :in_love:
The way Ed Norton portrayed Jack was perfect!

ROCKSTAR 09-05-2008 08:55 PM

Ed Norton was amazing. The really tired look on his face, the smirk, the annoyance and then, the thrill of Tyler Durden! :D

GlitterCupcake 09-06-2008 11:38 AM

ed norton is a really good actor and brad pitt is so hot in this movie

venusinfurs 09-07-2008 12:49 AM

Oh, I'm obsessed with this film. I saw the movie first, then read the book, which I recommend, just because David Fincher did the film so well. It sucks to know the ending before you see the film because the scenes leading up to Ed Norton's nameless character's realization are brilliant.

And dude, Brad Pitt owned the film. Tyler Durden is one of those historic characters you never forget.

And I have to give a shout out to the script. It's so brutal and deadpaningly hilarious and cold and distant at the same time.

Also, David was a genius to splice in the random scenes that were giving you a clue Ed was insane.

GlitterCupcake 09-08-2008 09:27 AM

its like a smug comedy that you need that extra part of sense of humor for

fetch 01-05-2009 03:19 AM

Narrator: [voiceover] People are always asking me if I know Tyler Durden.
Tyler Durden: Three minutes. This is it - ground zero. Would you like to say a few words to mark the occasion?
Narrator: ...i... ann... iinn... ff... nnyin...
Narrator: [voiceover] With a gun barrel between your teeth, you speak only in vowels.
[Tyler removes the gun from the Narrator's mouth]
Narrator: I can't think of anything.
-----------------------------------

Tyler Durden: Would you like to say a few words to mark the occasion?
Narrator: mumbles...
Tyler Durden: I'm sorry...
Narrator: I still can't think of anything.
Tyler Durden: Ah... flashback humor.

ROCKSTAR 01-05-2009 08:16 AM

Great dialogue this movie has! :D

That one always gets me.

Sugarfixx 01-05-2009 10:30 AM

It has one of the best dialogues ever :D
And the book is awesome.

GlitterCupcake 01-06-2009 09:11 PM

i love the quote.. This is your life, and it's ending one minute at a time

ROCKSTAR 01-07-2009 11:22 AM

I never got to read the book. I hear it's so great.
