With this role he makes real for all student the opportunity, the hope...make your own decision, take your choices...stand up for your self.

And when he was Pach Adams he bring to reality the humanity of medicine, we can say he chose a role for an ideal for make us better...

"We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. Medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits, and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for. To quote from Whitman: 'O me, o life of the questions of these recurring, of the endless trains of the faithless, of cities filled with the foolish. What good amid these, o me, o life?' Answer: that you are here. That life exists, and identity. That the powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse. That the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?" - Dead Poets Society (1989)

R.I. P. Robin Williams. Oh Captain, my Captain!

The end scene moves me to tears every time ... the tribute of the boys standing on their desks. The way he's genuinely touched beyond words, and says softly, Thank you boys ... thank you. He realizes that he did make a difference, and that he will always be a verse in the lives of his students.

This movie is in my top 5 of all time favorite movies.

So true. He made the difference for his students. He was great. Any teacher should learn something from this movie, IMO.
