Such an amazing movie

It's raw without being gritty. Definitely a classic

Thank you for this.

It is really beautiful. Oh goodness. I was able to watch this movie once because I was so young and so emotional when I first saw it.

Robin, the wonder in your eyes will be dearly missed. I truly can't believe he's gone.

John Keating: We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for. To quote from Whitman, 'O me! O life!... of the questions of these recurring; of the endless trains of the faithless... of cities filled with the foolish; what good amid these, O me, O life?' Answer. That you are here - that life exists, and identity; that the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. That the powerful play *goes on* and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?

What will our verse be guys?

Personally I love all parts of this movie. Any verse, especially "O Captain, My Captain" Now I'm sad but in that moment he gave to his students some hope

Ethan Hawke and Robert Sean Leonard were amazing too. They did a great job

John Keating quotes Whitman, he demands his students stand up on their desks, he whispers ''seize the day'': A quarter century later, is there a silver-screen teacher more iconic? In his later work, Williams could hit the ''inspirational'' note a little too hard, but here he's the perfect mix of light whimsy and professorial gravitas.

O captain my captain and seize the day are really iconic moments that we as fans can safely attribute 90% to RW's charm.
