I don't know if anybody seen this movie.it's called "Crash"...james spader,holly hunter,deborah unger,elias koteas, and roseanna arquette are in it..
Since a road accident left him with serious facial and bodily scarring, a former 'TV scientist' has become obsessed by the marriage of motor car technology with what he sees as the `raw sexuality' of car-crash victims. The scientist, along with a crash victim he has recently befriended, sets about performing a series of sexual acts in a variety of motor vehicles, either with other crash victims or with prostitutes who they contort into the shape of trapped-corpses. Ultimately, the scientist craves a suicidal union of blood, semen and engine coolant, a union with which he becomes dangerously obsessed.quette are in it... |

Crash (1996)
I don't know if anybody heard of this movie but this the plot what it is about:
Based on the 1973 novel by J. G. Ballard. James and Catherine Ballard are a married couple whose sex life has been reduced to recounting tales of mutual infidelity to turn each other on. One night, James causes a head-on collision with a car carrying Dr. Helen Remington, killing her husband and severely injuring her and himself. Subsequent encounters with each other find that they are oddly sexually aroused by the danger of car accidents and potential accidents, and, with Catherine, soon fall in with a cult of car crash fetishists. The group is led by Vaughan, a former scientist twisted by his own disfigurement in an accident, and, as a result, a man obsessed with car crashes as a liberation of sexual energy. Vaughan inducts the Ballards and Dr. Remington into his surreal world of sex in the back seats of cars, re-enactments of famous car crashes (i.e. James Dean and Jayne Mansfield), viewing photos of accident victims and screenings of collision videos as pornography, and fender benders as mating rituals. post in here if u saw the movie.  |

a few years back....i read the book......and then i saw film....sex and violence is the theme......the best of both worlds......and it's directed by one of my favorite canadian directors.....david cronenberg.....he has another film in release right now.....perhaps you've heard of it?....it's called 'a history of violence'....he also directed one of my favorite jude law films....'eXistenZ'......leave it to those canadians to come up with some weird and kinky ideas.....
.....oh...just remembered....'crash' (1996) stars james spader.... ....who was also in one my favorite films a couple of years ago called 'secretary'...which in all respects is a film about a sadist and a masochist.....gosh this thread has suddenly made me go kind of crazy.......  |

Oh, I totally remember hearing about this film and wondering if I wanted to see it. And as Secretary is one of my all-time favorite films and I love David Cronenberg's work I'll definitely go look for it.

i am renting it. i am hoping to get it wednesday. i joined netflix.
i saw secretary and i liked it. i thought it was sexy and different. at first i wasn't sure to post the movie on here because it is an NC-17 rating movie. |

It's a GREAT film. David Cronenberg is one of my favourite filmmakers ("auteurs", I'd say), and this is one of his best efforts, for sure. Sex and violence, yes, and also his fear of technology, it's all in this movie. Check out also his early amazing movies, THE PARASITE MURDERS with horror queen Barbara Steele for example.
