| Cold Mountain Cold Mountain is based on a novel by Charles Fraizer that is about a Confederate soldier coming home from the Civil War to get back to the girl that he loves. It came out in 2003. ![]() I haven't seen the movie yet, but I just read the book, and it was amazing. So I want to see the movie, and I've heard that it was a good movie. What do you guys think? __________________ | |||

| Addicted Fan ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | like you I also enjoyed the book so I was a little worried about the movie. I'm a huge Nicole fan and I enjoyed her performance but she wasn't at all how I pictured Ada to look and act. Once I got over that and squinty eyed Renee the movie was enjoyable. The best performance in the movie wasn't from Nicole, Jude or even oscar winner Renee but from Natalie Portman in her teeny tiny role. She really pulled out all the punches and added so much to her role. This movie tried to be a huge epic ala Gone with the Wind and it doesn't manage to pull it off but I still found the movie to be emotional and lovely. You should definitely check it out. __________________ themadreviewers.blogspot.com | |||

One thing I found really lacking was the Jude and Nicole chemistry, as well as their actual love story in the film. Because of that, the emotional impact wasn't as great for me because I didn't care all that much about the 'heart' of the story. And also totally agreed on Natalie's performance. She was amazing in it, even with her 10 minute or so role. __________________ ♥Jiadi | |||
