Chronicles of Narnia (2005)

Anyone looking forward to this?

Oh, I hadn't heard about this!

Is it animated? *goes off to IMDb*

I LOVED the books as a child, couldn't stand them in my early adult life when I found out about the symbolism, then came back to them last year - rereading every one (including the one before The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe).

Ooh, yay!

Ooh, is that the official movie poster?

I'm looking forward to the movie but I'm also worried that it'll end up being a disaster.

oh my gosh!!! when will this be out????

Blue_kitty 11-24-2004 12:12 PM

I'm kinda looking forward to it. James McAvoy, one of my favourite actors is in it, but I don't really know anything about the story.

That sounds interesting!

I hope they'll make a respectable movie out of it!

I'm concerned about how true they will be to the book.

And, does anyone else remember the cartoon that was made for this movie? It is about 20+ years old? That was my first introduction to the series. Then, I read all of the books.

It's a series of 7 books (although the first one is frequently ignored) about the adventures of these children - different children in several of the books, although they're all linked in one way or another. They discover this secret land - Narnia - which is created by Aslam, the Lion.

I don't want to say more because I want you to go out and read the books before seeing the film (in fact, while I love movies I think reading the books is much better than seeing a film, even if the film is great) - they're pretty short and very quick reading. :)

Mr. Impatient - I remember 2 different animated versions, and one live version, of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe from eons ago (it could have been 20+ years) and I didn't care for them. But then, they tried something similar with LOTR, and look how well (reasonably - considering) the latest adaptation went. Here's hoping Narnia gets better treatment than it's received in the past.

What's the first book?...I thought that it was TLTWATW.

It's pretty cool!

OMG! they're making a movie?!

I love the Chronicle of Narnia... one of my favorite series since I was a kid. I hope they'd be able to make it as fun and magical as the books :D

It's been a while since I've read them but I think it's 'The Magician’s Nephew'.

Sounds familiar! I re-read the first three and just couldn't believe all the religious stuff. Actually was a bit disappointed in the books the second time round but I loved the TV adaptation so much so I'd definitely watch the film.
