Marvel has been kicking ass in everything they have done, so I expect them to do the same with Captain Marvel. I'm really looking forward to this, just wish I didn't have to wait till March argh!!!

i agree with this! i look forward to the day when there are just as many female superheroes as there are male superheroes on film, and gender matters not, in bringing fans to the theater. i hope CM blows up big like BP did, need the great publicity for the coming Cosmic Universe!

i have high hopes for this film, new superhero, and hopefully plenty of surprises from the past history of the MCU, especially since both Fury and Coulson are in it. i sure hope we get to see some of the Cosmic Universe in CM, as well as the Quantum Realm.

yup i like Black Widow too, but for some reason Marvel has waited all these years to give Widow a solo backstory film, maybe even a buddy team-up film with Hawkeye, as they both have shared history prior to the Avengers Initiative. hopefully they will fix this lack of origin film sometime in the Cosmic Universe.

I would really like a Black Widow movie too but we can take that convo to the Avengers thread!

But the idea of more female heroines are not new, because Widow has been around, just not a solo film yet.

I really... don't know how I feel about this film. Obviously Marvel wants to cash in on the success of DC's Wonder Woman by having their own female lead movie. I honestly prefer Carol in her Ms. Marvel form. What I also don't get is why is this film set in the 90s?

MCU movies are inspired by the comic characters and comic events, but are changed and adapted to fit a film universe, that may not necessarily use them in the comic context or background. so far, Marvel Studios MCU, which is a standalone entity and not associated with Marvel Entertainment Group (the comics), is batting a .1000 and firing on all 8 cylinders. i trust them, particularly Kevin Feige, to do cinematic justice for the Captain Marvel character, despite it's long messy, convoluted history in the comics. i like that fact that they're going with the modern Carol Danvers incarnation, we need more female superheroes in cinema! hell yeahhh!!!
