The Beatles in Movies

I was at the library the other day and found Hard Days Night and Help. Two great Beatles movies, staring the Beatles singing and just being themselves.

Anyway I was thinking of all the movies center on the Beatles even if their not staring. Like Yellow Submarine isn't their voice, but their music. And Sgt. Pepper Lonely Heart Club Band (I think that's the title) has the B-Gees and another singer just singing Beatles songs with a narrator, no dialouge.

And of course movies on them by other actors, like Backbeat is mainly about the very early days when they have five guys and Pete was the drumer. Ringo only makes a small cameo.

Does anyone else have any Beatles movies?

I've got all their movies. That spoof movie The Rutles is funny.

I love The Ruttles!

Hmm...I thought Yellow Submarine DID use their original voices, and while I only vaguely recall the details since I saw it in the theater in 1978, I thought Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (that was THE Peter Frampton, by the way!) had a little bit of dialogue...although there's mostly singing.

Great people were in that film - even Steve Martin! (who played the evil Maxwell Hammer)

Whew! I'm dating myself! I even had the soundtrack album on 8-track!

I used to have Help!, and come to think of it, I don't know where it went....

I loved that movie. There were so many funny lines just slipped in. Totally cracked me up. And I really loved how cheezy it was.

If you look closely at my bookshelf in this post, you'll see some of my Beatles movies. Help! isn't visible, but it's above A Hard Days Night.
