Have always been a Baz Luhrmann fan.
 Loved his version of ROMEO + JULIET (contrary to popular opinion, I thought DiCaprio and Claire Danes were great together) and STRICTLY BALLROOM was cleverly made. I didn't particularly root for the Christian/Satine romance in MOULIN ROUGE (it felt quite sappy to me) but I thought it was a beautifully styled movie, and really nailed the Parisian joys and struggles of that era. __________________

^^ Agree 100%, I love the imagery Baz provokes in his films. Great style and use of colour that you can't look away!

Her final scene was so sad too. I think we all knew her character would die, but right after that epic performance?
