‘The Batman’: Dylan Clark May Produce Standalone Movie | Variety

Dylan Clark, who produced Matt Reeves’ “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” and the upcoming “War for the Planet of the Apes,” is in talks to join the director on “The Batman.”

Sources tell Variety that Clark and Reeves have a strong working relationship dating back to the “Apes” pics. While the deal hasn’t been completed yet for Clark to produce the standalone film, sources reveal that it’s on the horizon.

Reeves is working on post-production on “War for the Planet of the Apes” until June so “The Batman” production will likely commence at the beginning of 2018, at the earliest.

Clark is currently in pre-production on a reboot of “Scarface,” which Universal is prepping with Diego Luna attached to star.

I Think We’ve Already Seen A Good Look At Matt Reeves’ Take On Batman

Obvious things are obvious I guess, but sometimes you just have to let it hit you in the face. In talking to the LA Daily News about War for the Planet of the Apes, director Matt Reeves told them that Planet of the Apes and Batman are, “the two franchises which were the two that I was connected to most as a child.” *Given that Reeves would have been about 20 years old when Batman: The Dark Knight Returns was published, I suspect that obsession, or some level of it, extended beyond childhood.

I don't really think 'The Batman' title is official
When Ben was still listed as the Director - he called the film 'The Batman', but now that Matt Reeves is set to direct

he might have something else in mind.
