I don't think so. Can't say for sure, though. Hopefully it will be become clearer as more details are announced

It's funny how he talks about the casting backlash. Reminds me of all those fan castings for Edward Cullen back in the day for Twilight and then after the first movie came out, most people fell in love with Rob... So that's the hypocrisy of fandom for you! They embrace you or they hate you - never in between.

I think he'll endure it no matter what. He'll remember the Twilight days and how book adaptation fans can be very protective of the source material, same for comic Batman fans

Oh, for the love of... Will Hollywood please stop this? Selina Kyle is white, and race switching the character is inappropriate.

Do they think the comics are gonna change her character there? Nope, they're not gonna do that, so what's the point?

The reason that I'm against this is because Hollywood never thinks long-term. So let's say they cast a black actress as Selina Kyle and she does a trilogy, or however many films she makes. Fine. What happens later on when someone casts a white actress as Selina Kyle? You create a schism, because some audiences will get offended by having the character be a white woman again, while longtime fans will point out that the character is white in the comics and will therefore want the character back. Having a character being played by actors of different races creates a situation that will eventually boil over because each side will feel slighted in some way. Hollywood really needs to be more responsible with this and realize that if they want diversity, they need to either use the existing characters that reflect diversity, or create new ones. Example: Fish Mooney of Gotham, played by Jada Pinkett-Smith.
