I only seen the first Hobbit movie so far so I will go with Lord of the Rings since I seen them all.

Given this is a movie thread I will answer with the movies, not books. I prefer Stephen King's IT overall, then The Shining TV Miniseries from the late 80s...and I hate The Shining from 1980 AS AN ADAPTATION, but love it as a standalone movie as it deviates so far from the book, any self respecting Stephen King fan would rather commit suicide than say it's based on his book.
