Episode 5.10 - Fifty Shades of Grayson

DAMON’S PAST RETURNS TO HAUNT HIM — Damon (Ian Somerhalder) realizes Elena (Nina Dobrev) is in danger and enlists Stefan’s (Paul Wesley) help to find her. The brothers pay a visit to Aaron (guest star Shaun Sipos), and Damon shocks Stefan by revealing his first-hand knowledge of Aaron’s family. In an attempt to stop Damon, Dr. Wes (guest star Rick Cosnett) unleashes his secret weapon, forcing Damon to deal with a part of his past he thought was gone forever, as well as the consequences of his decades-long plan for revenge. Meanwhile, Elena is horrified by Dr. Wes’ confessions about the dark history of Whitmore College and his own ultimate goal. Finally, a frantic Katherine (Nina Dobrev) turns to Matt (Zach Roerig) for help, until she realizes that Nadia (guest star Olga Fonda) may be the one who can solve her problem.

The Damon storyline can't come soon enough IMO.

Because OMG!!! I was chill with the doppleganger stuff but this is just complete OVERKILL to the extreme. I don't think it would have been so bad if it was just Elena and Katherine and that's it and maybe a brief appearance of Amara or whatever. But with Stefan having a doppleganger...it's just way too much and frankly all-consuming again IMO.

There's just no time for any other character or actor with all of the time the writers have to spend on the two doppleganger storylines. It's a lot like the Originals in season 3 basically taking over the show and taking away storyline time from the main cast.

Bascially to me it's :

Dopplegangers = the New Originals

So Damon's storyline has to start soon now that the Silas storyline and Bonnie storyline are kind of over. There's of course still the whitmore college storyline and Katherine's storyline but I don't think Damon has anything to do with them. Unless his storyline is part of the Whitemore thing ?

Actually i think Bonnie's storyline is just getting started.But now that we don't have Silas and Tessa dominating the screen we can focus on the main cast.

Yes thank goodness those three are gone! I still can't believe how pathetic Tessa turned out to be killing herself so she could stalk Silas on the other side

I loved the Beremy reunion. Sooo sweet Although I think Bonnie will want to kill herself again now that she's the anchor.

I think Damon's story will tie into the Whitemore thing. He's supposed to start investigating them soon.
