she did hand in her manuscipt for Phantom before the publishers decided to drop her, so the latest book is most likely mainly her work still as whatever she wrote was the company's property.

I don't think she's allowed to! With her own characters! Thats whats especially sad about it.

she probably can't, yes.. Bound by contract, where her characters are not really her propety but theirs. Like they hired her to write the story for 2 vampire brothers and one girl so they own it all or something like that. (from what I understand)

I got book 8 Phantom for Christmas not read it yet. I know L J Smith is no longer the author of the books and just recently found out that she is also not the author of trhe new Secret Circle book either I probably will continue getting the rest of the Vampire Diaries books. Anyone know when part 4 of the Stefan Diaries is going to be on sale Amazon has been avertizing it yet no date of release from what I can tell.

I was wondering about another topic book wise though it might not work as I'm not sure we know enough books he has read but the topic I was thinking of was this Books Ian has read/recomended reading.

which new Stefan's Diaries? The Ripper or The Asylum?

We can include that other book thread here, this one's not very busy anyway. Only advertise it on other threads so people do pop in for that.

Thanks Wicki what that makes two Stefan Diaries books I haven't managed to get I thought it was just number 4 that was still to come out and that was The Ripper so there are five in all now I have the first three yet haven't seen book 4 and now this 5 one anywhere in shops and I don't think Amazon mentioned the release date

The Ripper's already out, The Asylum to appear on the 17th Of January I think.

Looks like I might have to get my brother to order it via his amazon account as couldn't find it in the shops for Christmas book 4 that was so now got to ask him nicely for both books.

Books that I know Ian has read so far are Rum Diaries by Hunter Thomson and maybe even The Outsiders by S.E Hinton though not totally sure about the Outsiders one and of course he read the Vampire Diaries books to get a sense of how to play Damon

finished both the Ripper and Asylum. Cant say I was very impressed, but thats the showbased books for you. Very..Stefanish.
