I personally think she should.
 Even if it's just for the final episode. I'm not an Elena fan, but I am a Delena fan. I'd like the closure on the two of them and I think a lot of fans agree  (About the closure, not necessarily about the Delena part )__________________

Since both Julie Plec and Nina said, that she would be back for the last chapter of the story, I would start to rant here if this won't happen.

I want Damon to have his happy ending, and I think losing Elena was a real blow to Delena fans, so I do want Elena back for the final chapter for a proper ending, on the condition Damon and DE fans get treated rigth by the TVD writers...
I will rant forever otherwise...__________________

The writing for her went down hill when they decided to make her sole purpose to be getting Stefan in S5. It seemed like they just completely lost focus of the character.

I wish Kai was the "big bad" of the last episode. I think the writers ruined Katherine and I'm sorry she may be back.

I think it would've been cool if they waited to have Kai back at the end. I get why it would need to be Katherine (although I really wish they weren't wasting time on a villain tbh) but yah Katherine stopped being badass by the end.
