This past 2 months have been rather difficult for a lot of us given there has been much rumors going on about Ian's love life, leading to lots of discussions. Unfortunately, despite numerous warnings, certain rules keep being broken in these discussions and we decided the best course of action now is to close both Nian and Love Life Threads and post a general post with the rules again. Both threads will be temporarily closed in the meantime as we want to make sure posters have read the rules and understand them, so please do respond to this thread!


1) This board is here to appreciate Ian Somerhalder so it is not a place to express your unhappiness and frustrations with Ian and talk negatively about him.

2) No one here can claim to know exactly what is going in Ian's (or Nina's for that matter) life and what he is thinking or feeling at any moment. All ANY one of us do is form our own opinons and speculations based on the info we have (some of which are 3rd hand). Therefore refrain from stating your opinions as undisputable facts and try to force people into accepting a "reality" that you believe in and take issue with them when they don't. Remember that everyone is entitled to their own opinions! For that matter, do not make claims like people do not want Ian's happiness or insuniate that they don't care or like him as much etc. just because they do not share your opinions!

3) Do not attack other posters or get into personal quarrels with them, this is an rule and a very important one! If you have a problem with a poster or a post, either try and sort it out in PMs OR PM a mod about it. Remember that we are not here to discuss "posters", we are here to discuss Ian, so posts that disect another members' posts to discredit them or take issue with them for changing their mind on something etc. have no place here. Stop making things personal!

4) The Nian thread is NOT a thread to discuss all things Nian. The Nian thread is an appreciation thread for the relationship between Ian & Nina, and so the rules of appreciation threads apply to it. Do NOT treat it like a general discussion thread. If you do not appreciate Nian (be it as a friendship OR as a couple, however you see them) you should not be posting there. Posts playing the blame game or "picking sides" in the relationship has no place in the Nian thread. Posts speculating or talking about what other people Nina or Ian may be seeing has no place there. If you want to make speculations about Ian's love life, there is a thread just for that, stop doing it in the Nian thread. For that matter, engaging in Ian/other or Nina/other talk by not properly using the "other"'s name (like calling someone "she who must be named") doesn't make a difference as however you mention their name it still means you are talking about a relationship that is other than Ian/Nina in the Ian/Nina thread and that is not allowed!!!!

5) Love Life Thread is for general discussion of Ian's Love Life and open to everyone. It is expected that you know this about the thread and come in there knowing you need to be tolerant of opposing views and respect people's opinions and speculations regarding Ian's love life there. Also, do not forget that speculations about Nian's break-up and who/what caused it are NOT allowed in that thread.

6) Real life bashing is forbidden in as a rule. Keep that in mind when talking about other celebrities or posters. You are not free to say and claim whatever you want about people in this forum. Critcism within boundaries are allowed but that's about it. Especially refrain from attacking people's personalities.
