The AHS finale was nailbiting! And I'm so disappointed we go to a different haunted house next season! I'm so into these characters, damn!

What's the point to moving? Its this story that people liked, not some random other! Or should that be in the rant thread?

It won't even be the same house? Because I saw people mention a new family moving in there... But then I also saw the producer say next year we'd see some similar faces but in different roles, which sounds weird.

Btw, I think that was quite a fail of a finale. THAT is what was hyped so much? And there were things like it was 2 hours but they had to trim it down. Thank God it wasn't longer. And I felt they ripped off The Others a lot

with the whole "family claims the house and scares new comers off" thing as well as the whole "the ghost-lady of the house befriends the ghost-maid and they're all one happy ghost family now" stuff.

I felt bad for Tate. I kind of hoped at the last minute he'd be invited to the Christmas party. So, will Ben hang out with him, or not? I think Ben isn't %100 right about him as he does care about Violet and I think he does want to change and be better, if not for anything for Violet's case. But as long as Vivien is creeped out by him (which would be forever, IMO, and understandably), neither Ben nor Violet would even think of taking Tate back I guess. I do hate Hayden though. Wish there was a way to kill a ghost.

The Anti-Christ stroy didn't fail to fail, like I thought it would... The evil "baby" that is to be a sign of the world coming to an end, killed its nanny, oooohhh what a shocker...

happy endings cause I liked the finale as a whole. I'm happy Vivien got her baby back and that the family is together.

I'm only disappointed cause there's no more as I feel Violet would help Tate in the future, especially as it looks she's the key to his good side (and no more killing) and she'll realise that. I would also be interested in what happens if you add the devil child into the equation, given he has an interesting father and a no matter what loving grandmother.

But none of that's gonna happen now..

Oh, don't get me wrong, I am happy

the family is together too (I have been expecting the stillborn child to emerge as a ghost baby but but still it was nice to have it confirmed. I must also admit I couldn't help but think, even if it is nice to reunite with the baby now, given they are stuck in the house forever, after some time it may get a bit tedious as he'll never grow up? I don't know... ) but I think most of the finale was a waste of time. Like the new family that moved in and the "looooonnnnggg" sequence of them being scared by ghosts to make them move away. The moment the family talked about it we ALL knew that was what they were going to do so I don't think one needed to make it last so long, especially the "rubber man chases the girl" bit. I'd prefer seeing Ben and Tate speak a bit longer instead of that, like even learning of his answer to Tate's plea that he spoke to him from time to time (and I'd like to think Ben will). I also like that Tate sought him out, I feel in some ways Tate has chosen him as his fill-in father figure. And they should have had a Tate-Vivien scene so we got a better idea about what might happen with him. We saw Violet still had a soft spot for him and loved him, IMO and it seems to me Ben also has a soft spot for him despite everything as he is able to relate to the boy (he kept talking to him ). We needed to see him make a plea with Vivien too as she is the person who he wronged the most, and it is what he did to her that is putting a wedge between him and her family. As Ben said, Ben or Violet can not forgive him for what he did to Vivien as it just isn't their place to. IF he is going to be accepted into theie lives, it can only be through Vivien. So a scene where he tries to apologize to her, too, and makes a plea for her help to be a better person would have been good, IMO.

the new family being scared bit was a great horror sequence, I was quite scared for them! I think they couldn't call themselves American Horror story if that wasn't in.

Didn't Nora say that the child was alive and the doctor was wrong about him being stillborn? Liked her as well, and she is a free spirit now after receiving (and getting rid of) what she wanted most as a ghost.

Seems like we don't agree on many things regarding the show, but its all in vain anyway as we won't have more!

Yeah I guess we don't agree on a number of things... Like

I wasn't scared at all during the scaring of the new family sequence as I knew, even before it really started (the woman waking up to see the rubber man), that the ghosts would be trying to scare them away, so for me it was like they were two people going through one of those "horror house/tunnel" things in entertaintment parks, only THEY had no idea it wasn't real, that it was all staged. That is why I got bored with the rubber man chase a lot, as I knew it was Ben and that he meant the woman no harm... The only one I was scared for was the boy as I wasn't sure if Tate would get to kill the boy or not but I expected Violet to intervene and save the boy so even that wasn't very stressful. I was pleasantly surprised when Tate actually could not bring himself to kill the boy and needed him to not look at him etc., though. That showed growth on his part. I even wished Violet would see him unable to kill the boy so she'd notice he is changing. I'd like to think she did see it...

Yeah, the baby wasn't really stillborn as he manages to take in one breath before it died. So I think there was no saving it, it was as good as dead but wasn't "yet" dead so the doctor was technically wrong but the outcome wasn't going to change, it wasn't going to survive. I think they added the "one breath" thing to explain how the baby was able to come back as a ghost but even when they called it stillborn, I kind of expected him to come back because even if he was born "dead", he would have died while inside Vivien, and through Vivien, while still in the house. But having the "took one breath then died" explanation works fine.

I like Nora a lot, too and I am happy that she is now free. Actually her "I'm so tired" thing made me think maybe, out of all of them, SHE may be the one to actually now find peace and maybe move on? She wanted her baby, and she got it. And she knows she can't really look after the baby herself and the baby is in safe hands so she is done? I do like that despite the baby was driving her insane she stayed with him all this time, trying to shush him. She may not know much as to how to look after a child, but she is a loving mother, regardless.

I'll probably give the second season a shot, just to see how its turning out. Besides, some of the actors meant to come back as different characters, so we'll have to see who those are

That's one of the things I don't understand though, why

bring back some of the actors? Are they going for a "devil takes the same shape" kind of thing for surely they are not short of actors to play ghosts etc. They wouldn't need to use the same people.

And, yes, the baby is dead... I do wonder if it will get to "grow".

Moira aged, but then she seems to be the only ghost that aged. And I am not sure about Nora's demon baby in the basement. It feels as if he aged but then he is supposed to be a monster created by his father so maybe that's how he came to look once the man was finished with him. Still, what determines if a ghost ages or not?!

the actors can come back for some nostalgia, or nods to their old characters. I dunno. At the one hand, I don't see how they can play different people and not remind us how much better the first season was, on the other hand, I'm glad that at least we'll see some of them. Especially Evan.
