How 201 should've made more sense:

AU | Refusing to believe Katherine and allow her to walk out of his life with heart in hand Damon confronts her about their past back in 1864. Though Katherine tries to use deflection to bypass the elder Salvatore he doesn’t budge and eventually Katherine does something that even surprises her, she confesses to the truth.

It doesn't feel that way. If anything, it's a way to make DE look better than DK.

Datherine au; After his death, Damon is sent to the prison world but when he wasn’t expecting was company. Certainly not in the form of the 5′6″ brunette he had said goodbye to months ago. With only each other to rely on, the mutual goal of getting out of their own personal Hell has more than a few complications.
